Wow, it has been so long since I last updated my blog, I have a lot of things to write too, but this if for the upcoming challenge of FFT.
Me and friends of mine are setting ourselves a very difficult task for charity, this task is going to put our speed of gaming to the test. Our challenge is to play and complete Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX in 4 days, this includes the nights as we will not goto sleep at the same time, we will change over and keep the blog etc active while doing this challenge.
The challenge will be aired through a live feed via webcam, this will be embedded into the blog to allow viewing from here. We will also keep it updated as we progress.
In the challenge, we may go and set ourselves more Final Fantasy games to complete such as Final Fantasy V and VI. Hopefully this project will be a huge success!
Now about the charity, all money is going to goto Cancer Research, as my Mom was diagnosed with it twice (surviving both), the second time she was pregnant with me, so I am very grateful to be here and obviously my Mom too and I would like research to go into this to prevent people losing loved ones to Cancer.
The guys doing this challenge:
Tezuka a.k.a Terence Beckett, me (Tezuka will be the main man for Final Fantasy VIII)
Friends:
Sonny Kingscott - This is the person who thought up of the awesome idea, obviously from the Zelda things too. :p (Sonny will be the main person leading the game in Final Fantasy VII)
Dominic Tulloch - Silent but deadly friend, he will be our "master" for Final Fantasy IX (This is mainly because he has played it more then the rest of us and he just rules at Final Fantasy more than us)
Jack Cartwright - I don't know much about him personally, Sonny invited him, as he would be updating the blog.(He will be updating the blog, but he may not be here all the time.)
Just a thought, any ideas what other Final Fantasy we can play? Shadowdude wants to do only VII, VIII and IX, but what others do you think we can do in this limit.
UPDATE (19/2/08): Me and the other guys are thinking of doing a whole Tales of Symphonia run, but it is not confirmed yet, as it would be difficult to set a time limit for completing a game like ToS. FFT will still be taking place Easter but yet again, no EXACT day has been set.
UPDATE 2 (19/2/08): The live feed will be going through
justin.tv and we will take full advantage of the chat window that will come with the feed. More updates soon.
UPDATE 3 (23/3/08): The dates have now been changed to Tuesday 25th March 1:00PM (GMT) to Saturday 29th March. Tezuka apologizes for not being able to make it on the original date.
Go here

http://myspace.com/finalft for more information.
Starting at 1PM (GMT), goto our the blog or MySpace Profile to see our live feed!

We obviously got our inspiration from the 48 hour all Zelda games
Lol I mean seriously, learn to read much?
besides, dont matter if were using the same basis for an idea. Its for charity.
I think I can sum up my feelings with 3 letters. tl;dr.
I WOULD say XII... but that wouldnt be realistic. All the games are pretty long, but if any of you have a DS, III is fairly short...
er...
Actually, scratch that, because you need to level up the jobs and whatnot.
Define "do"- all sidequests or just main plots?
Half of the sidequests need to be done in Final Fantasy games to complete them. Also DS Final Fantasys cannot be done, it will be streaming from a webcam and pointing it at a DS screen would be unrealistic.
oh, true.
Well, i dunno what else then. Do this one first, and if you finish early, do one next year with more.
Couldn't you have someone play the DS one while others are playing the main console ones? he could just hold the DS screen in the view of the main camera, and it would save time.
Fantasys isn't a word.
Fantasies*
:3
I don't think you'll be able to beat XII in 48 hours. Forget it. FF I and III were pretty short, idk.
Go with FFVIII, FFIX and FFX.
ff7/ff8/ff9 or ff10. even ff10-2 if you wanna make it short(assuming you're just finishing it, not doing all the sidequest bullshit)
Bio the Zelda guys weren't the first people to do that, some guys did a sega game for longer, it was some driving vegas game.

Me and Shadowdude will add new information. about "FFT" here. I would like to hear more ideas, but about Final Fantasy X, it maybe a bit too difficult to squeeze it in but we will think about FFX-2 (even though I hate it ;8 ).
I've actually never played any of the ff series before, though I do own X and X-II in my collection. I think this would be pretty cool though, especially if it's for charity, I'll probably stream in and see for once what ff really is like, lol.
Yeah you're fucked you won't be able to do it, you shuold try a better easier series aka MGS

Actually it was originally done by a group of college students playing a game on genesis where you drive from one city to i think nevada, in REAL TIME. And basically it takes about four hours to make it there, and four hours to make it back, and the car is always driving on a slight angle, so you have to keep moving over slowly every minute or slow, and if you drive off the road, you lose and get towed back to the begining.
When you make it to nevada, you score 1 point. Making it back to the place you came from scores another point.
I'm pretty sure they ended up scoring like 12 points or something.
Dude this is gonna be fucking awesome...
Well done...
If you get the "New Game Plus" on FFX-2...
It makes the game much shorter if you have like all teh good weapons...
Maybe try that???
It's here guys.
Starting tommorow; me, Shadowdude and some of our friends will be starting out challenge.
It will start at 1:00PM (GMT) and finish on Saturday at the same time.
