Hi guys,
I have pretty much finished my project, and have very little time for making resources now... Kind of lost interest here some time ago, but then got made a MOD of the Resource area, but even that I am getting bored of, it's mainly nOOb's requesting things then never returning... Kind of doing my head in.
So at the moment I am fairly inactive, and to be honest I am not missing the forum that much... I don't see this place as being too creative and the work that used to get produced no longer really is... Most of the Best RPG makers here have also dropped in activity or left all together, the project we all said we would make just has not happened and the Advanced area is as dead as the Queen Mum.
Also I have a few issues with a few people here, who have issues with me, I kind of feel forced out, but to a degree don't care, I feel I have more to offer this forum than the forum does me... Hence why I am trying to find some place that still creates resources at the same rate as I do.
I still have my own site and Co-Run a forum, click my siggy or go to www.xprk.0catch.com if you want me to make some resources or join a project, but at this stage I am looking at waiting for the next RPG Maker tool, if there is one released, I may help out if it's some thing interesting or if you have some thing to offer to my Forum or site in return.

But you are definatly right, the script section is basically the exact same thing as the resource board, everyone in the script section posts a request, and never does anything else. As you said, most of the good rpg makers have left. (To hbgames.org!)

User can setup shops like this one, there is a reward like system, the forum has many great idea's like this one... This sort of system is perfect for me, people only make requests that are serious about making games now.
And when RMRevolution (if it ever does) gets as popular as RMRK and the range of members is broad and diverse again and you once again have people challenging your views (if they ever made a debate board that took off), would you leave there also?

This is because it's not yet very popular. Even a doubling of the popularity and/or it having "new" members that weren't just RMRKers or hbgames.org guys would get you right back to normal requests.

I have never had an issue with people challenging my views, in fact I like that and welcome it... It's not the thenature of ID that I don't like It's the MOD... And that's only part of the reason I am leaving...

I have no one to learn from, and there is no reward in making resources for nOOb's... I am wasting my time at RMRK... So me leaving is not down to JUST my personal feelings about ID but a whole host of things, this forum has been loosing members that made me smile for some time... TheBodge, Dox (Blaze), Mental, Blizzard, Nightwolf, SexualBubbleGum (Fuu)... We have also been loosing members that are creative and help-ful around the site, as I say launching their own sites... I have loads of respect for Nouman and Blizzard... So I have joined both of their sites...
I wish they would combine both Forums into one... Doing so would give a Merger that could rival this site for RPG making members (head count wise), but may be not on the board front for open discussion...
But I have joined an Adult debate site now... So I am getting a much better reception there too... And it keeps debating separate from games making... From the time I dropped being active here I have made loads more resources... This place was just not healthy for me...
I was making resources for nobody half the time... most requests came from people that didn't have an active project, and may never complete a project...
Silverline - You have done me some good turns in the past, and I have great respect for you, your a creative person, and your attempts to keep this place fresh are always formost, but your not an RPG maker, and may be for that reason out of touch with the needs of the forum... Halo is the only other real member here who I would say is top of his game in the resources he makes, and I can't see why he stays, he doesn't benefit from making these tunes for any one... I think each of us feels this way, we just need a final push... and for me the lack of respect in ID was that final push.

See above the above I guess. Since you can't see the recycle bin or trash forum or whatever, I guess you don't see how many posts actually are deleted from ID. As well as of course, the afformentioned bans / warnings.

When did Nouman leave? This is news to me. Nearly all of blizzard's reasons for leaving were either made up by himself, entirely impractical or nothing to do with RMRK itself at all. Reasons which could be valid were taken care of? After he left there were new mods (he thought the current ones were crap, again, his "better than everyone else" thing going off there ~) and forums introduced. I and I'm sure others beleive that the only thing stopping Blizzard returning is his pride.

I don't know whether or not you know, but I still work on music pretty regularly, and still post it. I also apply a license to it that
encourages people to use my music for free and they don't even need to ask me? It seems you're making resources only so long as you get praise? I don't expect (nor do I often get) praise for my music, but I make it anyway because I actually enjoy doing it. Do you

I would even offer to update your WEB front end and keep the resources upto date... But then again why should I bother... I mean when I say I am leaving there was No "thanks for all your contributions" From you as an Admin, all you have done is started being a complete prick... You say your forum is full of teens and that could be the issue, I am not finding that on other sites... Other sites have like Chaos have a VERY proffesional attitude.

I'm not really getting this... The reason you're leaving is because of lack of praise? I agree with you that you should be praised more for the things you do but I also agree with the fact that resource making shouldn't be done just so people can say "WAO HE GOOD" about you. If that's all that you want from resource making, then get a hobby. This is my Hobbie, making Resources... I AM MAKING RESOURSE FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T USE THEM... That's what I am saying... Most people in the Rsource section requesting don't finish their projects.
So I want the resources I make on the Home page so people can download them... that way there is more chance of them getting noticed and me getting noticed... Other wise why should I bother helping any one, I may aswell just make them for my self...
At least at http://www.rmrevolution.rmrk.net/ you can earn points and with those points I can hire help for my own project.
What I am saying is why am I helping a forum that isn't helping me ?... When i say that I mean in getting my resources noticed... Nouman as them on his front page, I have them on my WEB site... I have been an active member here for AGES and none of them are up despite numberous Emails / PM's...

I'd just like to point out that scripts, eventing help, and tutorials aren't having the favor returned. They managed to go along fine. It's not that the people don't want to help, they need help first so that they can help others. But now I am done with my rant. I hope.
Most resources requests I don't use my-self... I have no use for them... I make them for people who then abandon their project... those Resources sit on the Forum and never go on the front page and then get lost in time... So why do I bother staying here...?
Tell you what give me some reasons why I should stay ?...

And then to add to that, I am Modding and getting shite from other Mods, getting my REP stripped and basically being targeted for no other reason than giving my opinion even if it is wrong, rather than saying I am wrong they just call me a Retard or a Cunt... I don't belong here any more...
This place wont change any time soon I have asked Silver to get my resources up, I have Emailed Crankeye... it does not happen...

Sorry, what? A tenth of the resources database consists entirely of you. Or did you mean the main site? Read my first part of this post. This is, of course, assuming you think that most people use the main site for resources and not the resources forums here, when in fact it's the other way around.

Status would be moderator status, the special RMRK advanced status, veteran status, donator status and extra access status. Oh, and

Incase anybody reading forgot, the rep number is just that, your reputation. If you like somebody, you add to it, if you don't, you take away from it. You can't do anything again until waiting a couple of hours. I'd wager that JH and co minus rep you because
they don't like you. So, you're ultimately, with this, whining that somebody doesn't like you? Not everybody here is going to like everyone else. That's how humanity works. As for "abuse", with JH and co, while lame that they're doing it, are using the rep system entirely "legally" - that is, they can only do one edit, and only once in each time limit. The only way you could get away from this is to escape to a place that's small enough that everyone knows or likes anyone else. So yeah, one reason for you to leave there, but the reason is (sorry, it is) pretty sad.

There is no real "front end", it's done by adding the files directly through FTP. Which, gives whoever has access to that, access to all of RMRK's, well, everything. This is irrelevant though. I see you're calling me a prick because the resources on the main site aren't updated by me? The front page (crankeye.com) is crankeye's ground. He's made it clear that only he wants to handle that. Not me. Or are you calling me a prick because I don't use or thank you for resources I don't want or won't use? I don't use RPG Maker, Steve. Or did you mean, "thanks for working with resources stuff for the members!"? That's why I made you a moderator there :/

Many entries in the trash forum are posts by them intending to insult you that have been deleted. Saucy's been shouted at and knows what'll happen if she were to continue. JH himself was recently banned.
Well, you know what they say. If you're a perfect/good person and do one bad things (or more) they'll remember you for that.

If they're blatant I would delete them, just like I delete ones aimed at you. Being on top, I get my fair share of them, but I don't let them get to me or I ignore them. You know, the whole don't feed the trolls thing.
