Title: [RESOLVED] Looping Animations?
Post by: benjilover40 on August 10, 2007, 12:02:34 AM
Is there anyway to loop an animation as an event on the map and make it not freeze the game. i would like to use that method for cool looking save points but every time i tried the game would just freeze up with no error or anything.

sure there is
you make the event have a character set rite?
then have each facing (up, down, etc...) and have a custom move route set to rotating in order.

If you want a single animated image (like the mutli-coloured crystals, or a burning fire, or smoke billowing out of a chimney) just staying on the same spot, in XP check the Stop Animation box under the image and it'll loop through its frames.  Not sure how it works in earlier versions.

Either try walking animation or Stop animation. One of the two. Remember to do "Fix direction" (I think) so that it doesn't change graphics.

I'm trying to use a battle animation (IE: Magic Casting) not a character set but if i loop it it just freezes the game.

Did you try just a parallel process with:

Show Animation: Animation
Wait: the necessary number of frames (find out by seeing how many frames are in the animation)
