I don't mean for quests, I mean for anything. You click an item on the menu, and it shows what you wrote. You click "edit" and you can edit what you wrote. When you close it, its still there.

Is there any way to do this, or has it been done before?

Thanks

I don't think it's been done before, but I am a little confused as to what you're asking for. So, if you select say Items in the menu it then shows you a note the player wrote to himself about Items? How do you actually go to the Items menu? Why is this even a useful feature?

Anyway, I will not take this request, but I think you might have better luck finding somebody to write the script if you actually tell us what you want. Take a look at the template for script requests as it will give you a good idea of what a scripter needs to know before deciding to take a request.

Just speaking for myself, if a requester can't spend 5 minutes to tell me what he/she wants, then I don't feel particularly inclined to spend several hours fulfilling the request.

Its an option on the menu, like "status" and "items" "skills" Etc.

It would bring up a large text box that you can enter text into and acess that later.

No, it's a bit different than what I had assumed. I had sort of thought that when he said items in the menu he meant like you have there - usable items.

What he actually meant was that it is an option in the menu, like a journal. So, if someone were to give you a quest, but the player had to go do the laundry or something at the moment. He could go into this option, type in "I have to go to the town to retrieve an egg from the farmer", then leave the game. And when he came back, he could look at what he is written to remind himself of what he had to do. Or if he was doing a complicated puzzle or something. So he meant more like an annotated journal then what you and I had assumed.

Yeah... about that.....
I tried this once with a bunch of additional characters and a butt-load of name input processing.  Had a way to call up a text box with \n[9]\n[10]\n[11]\n[12],\n[...] (you get the picture).  It looks like reprocessed shit, but it kind of worked.

EDIT: Wow, I just realized how pointless it was to post that...
This is a signature.
