Flames of the Phoenix
Story Synopsis:
The mercenary group, known as the Renegades, have been summoned by the king to retrieve the fabled sword that will bring about the endtime, the Ragnarok. After being charged with this task, the group heads to a nearby port to get a ship. The group ends up having to fend off bandits and are given a boat as a reward. The group uses the boat to go to the NW island where the Blademaster's Tomb is. After going through the tomb, the group finds the sword and is challenged by its spirit. The group defeats its spirit and makes their way back to the king, who takes the sword from them and then...

World Development:
- Renegade's Base: this place serves as the home for the active party. There is a den, and two bedrooms (to house each member), as well as a well kept yard.
- Castle Villa: this serves as the town which leads to the castle. This place features three crosses representing the gods, two stands where the player can buy equips, and a save crystal along with a tutorial.
- Castle: This is where the player will get the initial quest. This place features the throne room where the king and queen are. A dining room where a friendly chef will greet the player. The King's chambers where a maid and the prince, Cerulean, will be mindlessly wandering around. Finally, there's a guard barracks where the guard captain stares over his proud battalion.
- Port Hymir: This port features a battle hardened Harbomaster and several open doors, that lead to a warehouse, for ship supplies.
- Blademaster's Tomb: This is an expansive dungeon, harboring all of the usual enemies that leads to a Sword Sanctum where Ragnarok may be found.

Character Bios:

Kaine - Leader of the Renegades. He is a veteran from a long forgotten war in which he lost the use of one of his eyes. He's brash, blunt, and sometimes sarcastic, but beneath his tough exterior lies a protective warrior who will fight to his last breath. His class is Deathblade, a class that specializes in Darkness-type attacks and attacks that cripple them with status effects.

Selena - Second-in-command of the Renegades. She's a former court magician, expelled after concocting an illness poison and accidentally killing a few animals. Her smile can brighten any saddened day and her quirky antics often get her and the group into serious trouble. She is never seen far from her bear, Mr. Fluffykins. Her class is Sorceress, a class that specializes in Elemental magics and some crippling status effects, her most notable skill is Mana Drain, which could be used to provide mana for magic by taking it directly from foes.

Emil -The latest recruit in the Renegades. She doesn't talk much and always refers to Kaine as 'sir' even though she has been asked not to. She's soft-spoken and kind-hearted and believes in the power of the light to cleanse evil from her foes. She excels greatly at the bow, because of her indomitable patience and she's always innocently asking naive questions. Her class is Priestess, a class that excels at healing and a few magic attacks, if her level is high enough, she will learn the ultimate Light-type ability, Saint.

Why did you start two topics for one game?

http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,45580.0.html
All of my scripts are totally free to use for commercial use. You don't need to ask me for permission. I'm too lazy to update every single script post I ever made with this addendum. So ignore whatever "rule" I posted there. :)

All scripts can be found at: https://pastebin.com/u/diamondandplatinum3

My bad, I used the other topic to promote my recruitable skills and this one to hopefully become a substantial project.

So, the game is completed? How long would you say the game takes to complete?

It's about an hour to complete. I wanted this one to be simple, yet entertaining.  ^-^

Does that mean that the game is actually completed?

Or is this just a demo? :)

Future reference: post your pics with the img tag inside spoiler quotes so there's no unnecessary tab opening to get to your pics.   ;)

Current reference:

Kaine was in a long forgotten war but is still alive... So he forgot about it?  Seems like that needs a little better explanation.  Or Kaine is really old.

Selena - "expelled after concocting an illness poison " Do you mean a potion and not poison?  The wording is a little off there.

Also, is that a dog running the shop in the second to last last pic?

Gameplay:
Spoiler for:
I like the look of your message scripts as well as the use of Enu's side view battle system.
I purchased a broadsword for Kaine but was unable to equip it.  Any thoughts?
Random move route guards in the Knight's training area and throne room seem a bit odd.  Maybe you could give them a particular route to take or make them stand still?
The harbor master starts walking randomly after you beat the bandits.  Would it be better to make him walk up to the heroes?

Mapping:
Spoiler for:
Most everything looks ok, but a few suggestions:
Spoiler for:
This girl is IN the door.  Let me suggest moving the counter down and letting her stand one tile down?  It may look a little less awkward.
Also, are these shops buildings WITHIN a building?  You may reconsider.  Either make where they are an outside area or turn them into stalls instead of buildings.

Harbor:
Lots of doors.  None of them go anywhere.  You may consider having them lead to the interior of that place or not be doors.   Plus you have crates in the water.  I'm not sure if you intended that. Also, a personal thing.  You can walk right to the edge of the map and not teleport anywhere.  I prefer to not be able to touch the edge of a map unless it's going to take me somewhere.

World Map:
Again, you can sail right to edge and then you're cut off.  Either make it loop or use something to block me from getting there.  Otherwise it feels like I'm on a flat world that just stops.

Tomb:
It felt very empty for a tomb.  No bones lying around or coffins or anything.  I also felt like it was a big maze, instead of a planned out tomb for someone important.

Battles:
Spoiler for:
Mostly mashing the attack button.  And a very high encounter rate in the tomb.  Maybe there's a way to make battles more strategic?  Like have one enemy only go down when I use Selena's fire.  Or another who I have to add the Darkness status to my attack with kaine's skills to hurt it.  You've given the player skills to use, force them to use them in battle!

Also, I don't know if you noticed a triple shadow effect?
Spoiler for:
The bat's battler has a shadow, enu's script gave it a personal shadow, and then you're fighting on one big shadow.  Less shadows please :)

Music:
Spoiler for:
I love using RTP graphics.  I'm a big fan of hearing non RTP music though.  And as much as I love Final Fantasy, there are other sounds you can use than their victory music.

I suggest trying to find some different music to give your game a unique feel to it.

For starters look at these posts:
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,45412.0.html
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,45033.0.html

or these websites for royalty free music:
http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/tips/freemusic.htm
freeplaymusic.com

Unfortunately I had to stop playing because when I entered the place where there were the three swords I got an error.  This error actually.

Spoiler for:

So I think you'll need to put the file back in your game.

A good start.  I enjoyed your dialogue, but I think there needs to be a little bit of improvement!  Try playing any of the games here for a view at what they've done!

Also, check out this mapping tutorial.  Not because yours are bad, but because he offers some good advice

http://www.rpgmakervx.net/index.php?showtopic=53134

And I've gotten 14 minutes of gameplay up to the point I encountered the error.  I'm not sure how long you were planning on that lasting, but unless you have another 45 minutes in there, it's not an hour.
