Why has this topic gone any longer than... 4 posts? This will end it:
1. Buy the legal version of RPG Maker, or you can't sell it. End of story. Enterbrain has had no problem in the past shutting down sites with illegal versions of RPG Maker up for download (Or at the very least made them remove it), so it would be no shock they'd sue you if you don't own the rights.
2. If you DO have the a PURCHASED legal copy of it, you have to get permission from anyone's resources you use, and, of course, you can't use any from commercial games. (i.e. NO Final Fantasy sprites, music, etc.)
3. Expect to not sell a single copy of your game unless you REALLY know what you're doing. From the gist of your posts, I'd say there must be tons of grammatical and spelling errors in your game, unless you yourself didn't do that part.
lets say you dont want to sell your games-just make games for your own personal use-could they still find out you used a key gen if your not actively trying to sell games you created? is there some kind of tracker or program that monitors downloads/purchased ratio.....i mean not that i used a key gen or anything-LOL
They have better things to do than track down the thousands of people who downloaded their program illegally. They aren't stupid, they know it happens. Before the English translated versions were released, they didn't care about that anyway. And as far as a cracked version, I'm fairly sure all they could do is get it removed from wherever it's being put up for download.
