Items & weps don't weild/equip

Yes its me again with another n00bish question

So...

When i pick up like ... a long sword..
Or.. [ i did this ] went into a shop & brought a leather hat.

WHY can't any of my heros even where it?
Its like:

Leather Hat : 1

What does it all mean.
it would really spoil my game if i couldn't equip a single item/skill/weps.

You need to open Database->Classes and allow the different classes to wear it by checking the boxes in the list.
