I find it strange, that even when recognizing that democracy leads us on a descending spiral into mediocracy and "leaders" who follow polls but don't lead and endless blame shifting, most people still cling to the idea that it is "the best way" and that anything else would be "unfair" or "immoral" due to their social ingrained stigmas against anything that would disrupt the status quo.
