How many of you have played "Valkyrie Profile" and know the battle system? How did you like it?

No. FFX had the best battle system I've ever seen in any RPG ever. The fact that they dropped it for any subsequent FF severed my love for Square.

Way to talk about Valkyrie Profile a little over a month after I was talking about Valkyrie Profile.

I enjoyed the battle system, but it was actually way too easy. One decent caster can take out all the enemies in any normal battle in one spell, and two could take out any boss in a few turns. I enjoyed running around and exploring the environment more than the actual combat.

Hmm...I was considering renting it...Is it similar to that game Drakkengard2 at all? Let's hope not...

Also, is there a difficulty setting I would be able to alter?

I didn't play Drakkengard2, so I have no idea.

Yes, there is a difficulty setting. I played on whatever the normal setting was. I'd reccomend the hard mode.

I also played in Normal mode and I think it could have been harder. Some bosses were tricky and I had to speed up their purification a little bit, because they would have done that with me instead. It's not hard if you know what you are doing. Altought, if you don't get familiar with the system fast then you are just screwed. I always enjoyed the Cave of Oblivion. Also I made it through Seraphic Gate, but that one last boss was just kicking my butt (even the usual enemies in the last part of Seraphic Gate). Especially if she uses her special attack. I get like 200.000+ HP damage. Once I was able to take about 400.000 HP of her energy. I wasn't able to do that again. =/
