Entering a town-Help?

Ok when a character enters a town or village area I want it to say the name of the town on the screen. Any ideas on how to do so? I thought of using a common event...

Create an image file of just text of the town's name, and save it in the Pictures folder.  In the teleport event, after the hero has teleported, choose Show Picture and there you go.

I tryed that, and tryed making the background for the text image transparent, but it kept showing up as a white background. Any ideas on that?

How did you make it transparent? By the maker or the image program? Do it by clicking the part you want transparent when you import the image into the maker..
