Okay, so a lot of topics seem to be randomly locked. Are they just auto locked after 24 hours of not posting? Or do mods simply pick out random topics and just lock them without notice....

I mean, there'd be topics only 3 or 4 days old I'd post in, but I can't! There's no reply button or anything!

Yes, I think he did. Although, if you check the dates... I would have considered locking it.

I'm not really noticing lots of locked topics, and I, for one, am not locking very many. I'll lock a couple Welcome topics after it starts to get out of control... but what's so bad about that? Actually, it seems topics are being locked around here less than ever. $:-\$
