I have a new "album" I'm working on, I suppose, and I figured I'd post the progress I'm making on one or two of the songs. Sort of as a way to gather early comments and suggestions, and also maybe as an insight into the way I go about writing, although I'm sure that's not interesting to most people, lol.

Anyway, here's one I just started on, called "Turbulence". At least for now, anyway. It started out as being a drum solo, but since it was kind of a jazzy beginning, I threw a jazz piano in. I may add more instruments, probably a bass, but for now it's fine the way it is I think.

OMG same here.  I was going to say the exact same thing.

I'll listen to it and comment later, Halo. ::)

Mwuahahahaha! I have speakers, but I´m in a class right now... Can you bump the topic later, so I don´t forget it?

I actually listened to it yesterday, but just didn't post anything about it.

Okay, fine.

It really needs bass to pull it all together. I mean, in Jazz, bass isn't something that just backs up the piano or whatever, it's a crucial instrument. So, yeah, with bass, this could rock tremendously.

Yeah, a smooth walking bass and a jazz guitar playing some smooth jazzy chords. Yeah.

And then, in the next new section, some, like, TRUMPETS. YEAH.

Agreeing for bass.

Like the sound you've got there, like it's over the other side of the room or something ~

It´s pretty unbalanced. I´d say average. I´ve heard better stuff from you. You should keep working on it, but other than that it sounds pretty interesting. If I´d use it for a game, it would fit good in some sort of Casino town I´d say.

It's a good thing I already added a fretless bass this morning, although I'm still experimenting with the bass part. I may change it to upright bass or fretted, I'm not sure.

So, the bass part is still being worked on and changed around.

I think I may add a jazz guitar, arlen, I've been tossing it around, and I'll probably add a vibraphone, but probably not trumpets. I'd like it to stay kind of like a quartet or quintet.
