fadark

where do i get freaking cheesey cheese?!?

just so everyone knows, im 15 years old.

fadark

btw, teej, can you pm me about how you made the name of the person talking above the speach box when a message would appear? i dont need the faced of the people talking though. just the name.

just so everyone knows, im 15 years old.

Irock

Fadark you have to...
Buy the cheese from a general store. I thought you had to shake a tree like in paper Msrio when you want that lime xD
And you need a script for that. Try an advanced message system.

fadark

i know, but every advanced message system i find includes the character's face also. i only need the name above the message window. not the face.

just so everyone knows, im 15 years old.

Snailer

Get letter by letter script by slipknot and shoosh go away here
lol

fadark

i beta tested, why would i got away? i found a couple bugs.

just so everyone knows, im 15 years old.

Teej

The syntax for the AMS that I used for the game (I think it's Slipknot's) is \name[Name of Speaker]. The syntax for a face is \f[name of .png located in Pictures/Faces].

Also, for the Cheesy Cheese, the only three places to get it are:
1. Amarillo City; Subcon Supermarket
2. Subcon Bay; Subcon Supermarket: Express!
3. Gather enough cookbook pages and give Mel T. Moo Cow Milk and a Stopwatch.
By the way, the description of Moo Cow Milk, and the item itself, is based off of a Lewis Black joke about milk. "When I was a kid, there was only one kind of milk: Moo Cow F*** Milk. That was the only kind of milk!". So, I made the item based on it, minus the profanity. There are several items, sayings, and other things in the game related to pop culture. Some relate to other Nintendo games (Animal Crossing, for one). Others relate to Homestar Runner.com, one of my favorite websites. Some things are inside jokes from these things. But if you're as into them as I am, you'll get a chuckle.   :D

 :D I said
general store
accidentally. I haven't had much time to test in the past few days. I'll try and test again tonight.

fadark

QuoteThe syntax for the AMS that I used for the game (I think it's Slipknot's) is \name[Name of Speaker].

so an example would be: /Arshes[Arshes]

would that be it? do i need any scripts for that?

just so everyone knows, im 15 years old.

Halestorm5

\Name[Arshes]

actually. But I use mostly

\Name[\N[0]] Putting in the namebox the name of the first person in your party.

Hope this helped. (This post is mainly aimed at Fadark)

fadark

so an exact example of it would be:

\name[Arshes]hello, what brings you here?

and i woudnt need any auto starts or common events, right?

just so everyone knows, im 15 years old.

Irock

Fadark please keep this in a pm or in Slipknots thread. This is off topic and doesn't belong here.

fadark

just so everyone knows, im 15 years old.

Irock

Sorry Teej. I don't have any time to beta test anymore since I'm getting Super Paper Mario tomorrow.

Teej

S'all right. I'm not sure about releasing the game now, cause of Super Paper Mario getting released. Did you find any other bugs, Irockman?

OMG. Thank goodness I started a new job today. With the amount of hours I am working, I will be able to afford a Wii (and Super Paper Mario) very soon. I just saw the trailer video, and it looks amazing. Considering that it is on a VERY different platform, than my game so you can't really compare their game play, but I think that both stories are very good (Naysayers, wait until you play my game. The story widens and gets REALLY juicy). I'm a writer at heart, after all. I think I want to hold off on the release of PMP just a little longer to do some final bug extractions and so as not to intrude upon all your "Super Paper Mario time". In other words, I don't want a fangame competing with an official game for popularity, cause I will lose, undoubtedly. Regardless of game quality, people will want to play the official Nintendo game, and I don't blame them. So, it'll just be a little longer (end of April at the latest) before the release of Paper Mario Pocket. Count on April 30th. Mkay? Mkay.  ;D

Edit for 2 seconds later:

Oops...double post...sorry...  :P

Doopliss

Ohh i hate nintendo for not making super paper mario as the other paper marios in rpg :'(

Teej

Ehh... It still looks pretty cool to me. I don't have Wii, yet, so I can't find out, but I think it still seems cool. Anyhoo, I finally fixed the mail system. There was an issue with its instructions that were not addressed in the script, I just figured it out on my own with my vague knowledge of Ruby and RGSS. As we draw ever closer to the May 1st release date, I am sending the beta version to my local testers (my friends from school here in CA) and they will help me find the remaining bugs. I'll post a download link here on the first when it's ready! Thanks to everyone! Please PM me your names so I can include you in the credits!

heres the link: http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,14934.0.html
it's really good

Teej

Holy crap! That thing is tops! I'm SO using it for PMP2! Thanks for telling me, Fadark, and Irockman, you did an AWESOME job on that thing!

By the way, I FINALLY GOT A WII! I love it! I can't seem to find a copy of Super Paper Mario, though. I'll play it eventually, but for now, I'm trying to juggle work and the game. As well as the fact that I just moved across town. My internet was just turned on today, so I'll continue to work on the game.
