Noob Question

Okay, when i test my game it goes through the menu then goes to the game screen.... then i try to move my charecter and nothing happens...... it doesn't freeze, it just wont let me move

Make sure the ground you start on is set to passable.  I've noticed a problem with starting on any ground above Layer 1 for RPG Maker XP.

Also if you hold the ctrl key you can walk over anything no matter what (as long as you're in test play).  Make sure you're using the arrow keys and that you have that window selected, selecting another window will make you unable to do anything.

Also, I've never seen this question asked before so I don't think it's a noob question.  Just an unlucky chance that it happened to you =/

Okay i tried that and no luck.........the window is selected, and im using arrows and i tried ctrl.......
nothing is working :-(

1. Did you make an event on the Auto Start Condition? That may be stopping you from moving.

2. Are the tiles around you passable? That may be the issue.

The ctrl key makes you able to go over passable tiles.  Either you have an autostart event that doesn't go away or something is wrong in it, or it's the game freezing.  I had a common event that autoran when a certain switch was activated and I activated the switch when I wasn't supposed to and the game froze.

Or is your hero's graphic accidentaly transparent and your trying to move another event?

This is a rare occurance, but it has happened.
