I Need Help with switches and stuff.

Ok want to make a scene where my hero cant move is there a way to lock him? And i have a character talking is there a way to make it automaticly talk without pressing action button? I also need  help with the concept of switches. Is thier a way to make a character die in a cut scene i want one character to kill the priest during a movie is that possible??? Please Help.....  sorry im such a newb

1.Maybe u can wait..from events but that'll stop everyone..or maybe u can make the tileset unmoveable so he cant move and he;s stuck.
2.I think u can try auto start...
3.Ask Zeriab and Viper...they know more than me about switches, look at zeriabs siggy and click that tutorial..

Yes. Make an event and set the trigger to Autostart, then do whatever you feel doing and stop the event by either erasing it (and the event will be triggered each time you enter the map) or by setting a switch to ON and making a 2nd page with that switch as a Condition.

I'm going to assume you mean that a dialog should be initiated when you (the player) go into the character.
Just set the trigger to Player Touch. You could also use Collision. It's up to you.

Is it a player-controlled character who should die?
How do you represent character that should be killed?
