Different event problem

Is there anyway to make events walk through other events? In other words: I'm trying to make it where these two characters burst into the tavern I'm about to leave and they scream for a bit then leave. Only problem is, when the first guy appears (on top of the teleport event [which is also the event im using to trigger everything]) he just freezes and then I can move around again. Any suggestions?

Set the teleport event to Phasing.
