When looking through some peoples games they have made with RPG MAKER XP. Which is what I have. They are able to have the battles such as, the enemies is on the left, the player is on the right. Kinda like a side view. Right now if i have a battle there is only a front view. Also, is there way to make these animations happen? I have seen all the tabs, that say animate that, animate this, and I dont know how to make those happend. Thank you !

I have another question, so i dont have to start another thread. How do i get into the resources folder? I went to C: , "Program files" , "Enterbrain", "RPG MAKER XP", "system", "data" There is nothing in there to even see how to add more sprites, or more tilsets. Its all a bunch of files that say, "actos" , "animations". but there is not  folder to open and look through anything! I dont get it? How would i add a tileset ?

Viper

There should be a separate file located within C: of where you installed the RTP to. It will have your game folder, along with Audio, Graphics..and whatnot. You just add graphics or audio files to those folders.

I looked all over for the RTP. It is nowhere to be found. I know that when you want someone esle to play your game, you have to send put like all the graphics, and what not you use. Well Im still not sure how to even find those. I looke dall over for any other folders. Only one I have is the "enterbrain folder". I have no idea still to find that folder. Shouldnt i be able to view the sprites, and tilesets, and what not that this engine uses? This would help greatly. As I downlaoded alot of tilesets , now i dont have a place to put them

Check My Documents for a folder that says "RPGXP", Thats what I do. Then import.

Viper

You don't even have to import from the database, you can just hard copy the files directly into that folder once you find it.

zxm

Its not good to do that, you must import!

Viper

:whoa: Okedokie...well if you say so Zx...

I'm telling you man, you need to hard copy them files...don't listen to him

I'm telling you it's much easier.

Im not sure what you mean? I have no idea what your talking about, "importing". Cant I just look at the tilesets that come with RPG MAKER XP? The folder, in "my documents" has the RPGXP, but when I open that, its only the stupid game I made. And there is absolutley nothing in any of those folders. So I dont get it.

Viper

You would have to go into your database if you wanted to look at the default tilesets and then EXPORT them into a folder.

EDIT: Example:

First off when you create a new project or use an existing one and want to import or export any type of material you will need to go to your Material Database:

After you have done that, a window will pop up with all of the default graphics, audio and whatever that came with RMXP. Choose the folder that you want to look in >>> choose the graphic. You can even click on Preview to see what it is.
There are two basic functions of this window...there is the EXPORT and IMPORT.

-Export, draws a file from the default RTP folder that you have chosen, into a folder that you choose on your C: drive.
-Import, draws a file from your C: drive into your default RMXP folders.

If you want to look or edit a file, then you would need to draw the file out of RMXP by clicking EXPORT.

After you have clicked EXPORT, another window will pop up that will look a bit familiar to you. This is just like a save option...you are just taking the file you chose from the RMXP folder and transferring a copy to a folder that you have picked. In this case, I created a new folder called "New Folder".

After you have chosen a folder, click "Save". And go into that folder as you would normally do outside of the RPG program.

And VIOLA! There it is...

I sincerely hope that you understand this now  :whoa:
