need help with custom naming (see inside for info)

ok its nothing like how to make it so u can name ur hero
soz if this has already been posted, but how can i make it say the name of your character in the bar (before the message type - \name[Arshes] - and in the box at the top of the bar it will say the name, for those who didnt know...) how do i make it so it will say a custom name
like if i called Arshes fredbut then on a dif save i called him bob how can i make it say fred on the first one and bob on the other?
