As you know Im making a big Saga (game) called: Celeron Saga. But I want the game/story/plot to be very good so I took the idea of a screenplay for movies and applyed it to games. This Tutorial will teach you how to do the same thing.

Note

1) This Gaming Screenplay was made by using RMXP, but you can us it for any Game/RPG Maker out there.

2) This Tutorial is only for people who want there story/plot to be good. By using this your game will take you longer to make. But if your like me and think a game is all about its story  then this Tutorial is for you.

What Is A Screenplay?

A screenplay is what a movie is before it gets filmed. Nothing more then words and commands on paper to tell the Producer and Director what should be done. See Example Below.

Example:Scary Movie 2
Quote
FADE IN:

               INT. HOUSE -- LIVING ROOM -- NIGHT

               A party is winding down. Only a FEW GUESTS remain. They all
               are gathered around the piano. A YOUNG PRIEST, FATHER
               HARRIS, plays an old standard. Everyone sings along. A WOMAN
               in the group, mid-40's, conservative, really getting into
               the song, starts giving a soulful rendition, dropping to her
               knees ala James Brown. The song ends. Everyone cheers.
               Father Harris starts another.

                                     HARRIS
                         Who knows this one?...
                              (singing)
                         "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?!"

               They all join in.

               A YOUNG GIRL, MEGAN, enters the room. She watches the group.

               The group notices Megan and slowly stops singing.

               CLOSE ON:

               Megan. Her eyes seem vacant, almost like she is sleep
               walking. She mutters something.

                                     MEGAN
                         You're going to die.

               The group looks confused.

               The young girl pees on the floor.

               CLOSE ON:

               A WOMAN in the group, mid-40's. She is the girl's MOTHER.

               The mother apologizes to her guests.

                                     MOTHER
                         I'm sorry. She's been really sick.

What You Need To Know

Just  as a screenplay has commands like:

4) Etc.

Quote
1) PET=Prepare/Execute Transition
2) TS= Tint Screen
3) RTS= Revers Tint Screen
4) FS= Flash Screen
5) SS= Shake Screen
6) WE= Weather Effect
7) SM= Scroll Map
8) T= Teleport
9) EE= Enemy Encounter
10) CS= Call Script
11) EB= End Battle
12) MDO= Message Display Option
13) M= Message

Putting It All Together

Now when you go to make a command on your gaming screenplay (SG) it should look like this:

Example:
Quote
EXT=Panorama;clouds/SM=left

The above example tells the person making the game the following information:
Quote
1) Ext- Tells us to use a Exterior Map Tile Set.
2) Panorama;clouds- Tells us to use a Panorama that has clouds.
3) SM=left- Tells us to have the screen Scroll left on the map.

Note: On the Screenplay the above example would be in bold:
Quote
EXT=Panorama;clouds/SM=left

Another Example:
Quote
MDO=Middle/M:

Now the above example tells us the following:
Quote
1) MDO=Middle- Tells us to use the Message Display Option and have it put the Message in the Middle.
2) M:- Tells us this is also a Message Command.

Note: On the screenplay the above example would be underlinded:
Quote
MDO=Middle/M:
