Never had this problem before. Never! Last night I had to contact my ISP which is QWEST and we did some troubleshooting and some questionable file deleting, but now my sound card says it cannot be found and everything. I checked and ran tests on DXDIAG but it just said the card could not be found. What could have knocked my card out?

and when I start RPGMXP:Postality Knights It says Failed to Innitialize DirectX Audio...

It seems that you deleted part of DirectX, no problem, just download the latest version.

RMXP has nothing to do with that by the way lol.

I'm having the same problem as this person. I just recently downloaded and installed rpg maker xp but everytime I open it, it says this. I just installed the latest directx and it still doesn't work...

You can also try reinstalling the sound card drivers.

@Evangelist?:
RPG Maker XP requires a DirectSound-compatible sound card
If you don't have a sound card in your computer then it's a different issue and you probably won't be able to use RPG Maker XP.

I did the same once, I accidently deleted it becuase I was trying to get avi's to work on my comp. (they still don't work).
It was only my comp account that it happened to, so I made a new one and transferred everything :P.
But I don't think that's really an answer...

I got it working on my laptop, just a pain though :p

Thanks for the help :)
