Blank Screen but show dialog

I want there to be a blank screen cos the main guy passes out, but if i hiude screen it hides everything inckluding the dialog, how do i only hide the map and not the dialog so it shows a blank screen with dialog?

If your using 2k/2k3 then instead of doing what your doing, create an image in say microsoft paint, fill the canvas with white , and write all the dialogue on that, then create an event, and go to show picture, and it'll show a white screen with writing on it instead.

Thanks a lot. I'm doing a new game, but I want this to be more rpg like, my klast game  made no sense it was quite long but pointless. Yeah... I've spent ages doing one map screen lol...
