What program to use to Edit/make Sound Effects?

I just found the Animation built-in set thingy in RPG:XP and I love it! Very Happy
But then the sounds that come with it don't always match the new animation effects that i made T.T"
What program to use to Edit/make Sound Effects?
I have guitar pro 4, but that only imports/exports MIDI... v.v... LoL

I usually use Acidpro or fruity loops for projects that need real audio and Cakewalk for midis. Usually use them for music but they should work well for editing sound effects too, especially some of the effects in Acidpro.
