This is project I've worked on for last year or so (earliest files in project's folder are dated on August 2012). At first it started as simple RTP project using mostly what Ace provides by default, but evolved into something more.

Now, please understand that I'm little sensitive about this project, and that's because I'm so attached to it, so please don't be too harsh on it. I'm bit shy of making announcements like this, because I've got burned by it in the past so many times. Maker used is of course Ace.

For someone asking if/when there'll be demo, the answer is: No demo unless project is canceled.
Reason for that being I prefer not release demos unless I can't finish game for one reason or another. And from my experience, in most cases when I DID release a demo, after some weeks up to 2 months I've lost all motivation in the project. So no demo. Sorry.


Story
Dragons and humans of Alaresia are at war for last two centuries. Our story begins when young dragon called Raergh goes for his first day on Dragon Guard. Soon he'll discover that nothing seems to be the way he was told from his childhood.

But will that knowledge be enough to stop incoming disaster?...

Characters

Raergh
Nice, young (and green!) dragon. He is main character of our story.

Voreth
Raergh's close friend. His scales are sky blue and he was one, who prompted Raergh to join Dragon Guard. He also doesn't like when you steal his catchphrase. Really.


There are also some characters that you can get in your party by choices you make during gameplay. For obvious reasons I won't list them here.

Cool, but non-essential info

- Game has many funny moments and I'll generally classify it as "comedy RPG".
- Game has many easter eggs, basically most if not any WTF moment you may experience is a reference to something.
- Game is based upon my previous attempt, in 2k3 that was only released as demo in Polish. Story of Dragon Tale: Story of the Lizard King happens roughly 300 years after happenings in that demo.
- World of this game will most likely be used in my future RPGs as well
- Next game in the series will be most likely a remake of 2k3 game since it was well-received in Polish RPG Maker community. Will be in English, of course.

For that. In all seriousness, and without malice, I'd suggest tweaking the title.

Screens are okay. Some I was impressed with while others were so-so. I appreciated the use of non-standard tiles such as the trees and flower boxes.

Oh hey, in the tenth screenshot I see a bunch of crates building a barrier. I noticed in this shot that there's a slight but perceptible error in the tiling. Is there a way to fix that?

Original name was Dragon Story, but apparently (flash and crappy, but still) game with that title already exists. And for that tiling error, it isn't noticeable during normal gameplay unless you specifically look for it (frankly I just noticed it now and I'm usually picky about things like that).

The screenshot with the lake and the hill... Shouldn't there be a waterfall?? Since it looks like you just used rough lake terrain on that O.o
Also, in the dark cave screenshot where there is a waterfall, where's the splashy effect?? It's easy to put an event on stepping animation right there ;)

As for the rest... I like it and I also noticed the crate error (the crates seem to be way to high for the walls...)
I will be playing this once you've finished it !!!

Thanks! Lake and the hill thing was remade to look more waterfallish (you meant 7th screenshot, right?) and added little splash effect to dungeon, or "dark cave" as you put it (3rd screenshot).

Finishing it will take probably like another year or so, since I work only on it few days a month as this is currently side project when I don't feel like working on my commercial one.

Those are ruins of Arestenia, previous capital of one of countries of world game is set in. It was only 200 years since it has been destroyed and castle grounds (seen there) are already being overtaken by nature. Oh well...


I'm looking for testers and specialists in English grammar. I'm not native speaker and probably made lots of grammar mistakes (though I think my spelling is correct most of the cases) and as developer myself with strong emotional bond to my creation I might not seen some obvious for everyone else mapping and other bugs.
