Help with default battle system.

Hey Sexy Girlfriend!!!
Ok so here's the situation. I am trying to make my game reasonably difficult, but not like Dark Souls or Ghosts N Goblins hard. So I created several weapons (like Rusty Sword and Rotting Staff) that have 1 ATK and nothing else added. My monster, 1 Goblin, has these stats:

Goblin
Max HP: 20
Max SP: 5
1 on everything except EVA

Now when I battle tested this scenario with a Rusty Sword, it never hit the monster, yet the monster still beat the crap out of me.

How can I make it where beginner weapons don't have 100 damage and the monsters can be low leveled and not killed in one blow?

Well, sorry, I mean parameters. *blushes*
Because maybe the parameters are to low to make damage or from the monster to high. ;)

Well I tried a fight and entered your settings to parameters. I set the character parameters all to one except for HP & SP, these two I putted up to 100 and I left a fight against two enemies with 46 HP left, so it should work I guess. ;) (\s/)
