Monster vs. Monster Battle?

Greetings!

It's been a while since I've been in here, but I'm getting back into it and was wondering if there was a way to have two monsters fight each other in the battle screen? I'd like to be able to activate the scenario through eventing, but my fuzzy memory tells me the battle screen is very user interface based and the actors and enemies have radically different structures.
