Summary
Slows down characters in specific spots to create a ramping effect.

Features Desired
  • More specifically, the map note box would be used to specify coordinates of 'ramps' and those areas would slow the player walking either horizontally or vertically(the reason that would be specified is because when you walk sideways on a ramp there's no need to be slowed down because you aren't 'changing elevation', only when actually walking up or down the ramp).

Mockups
I'll use this space to show why this doesn't seem to work with eventing too well.
Here we have 2 versions.

The one on the right could use 3 events, all 3 are event touch but change the speed of the player (outter two set speed to 4, inner sets speed to 3). The issue with the first one is that the speed is changed after they get up/down the ramp not to mention that when you walk sideways on the ramp you are slowed down which makes no sense either. The second one(on the left) is two events that do it automatically when the spots are touched(change speed 3-move down/up-change speed 4-move down/up). The problem with that one is that if you walk back right after the event (standing on the event touch to where it doesn't activate) it ends up repeatedly pushing you backwards, it does work properly if the player walks completely straight and doesn't go back directly after going up it, but that's just sloppy. They also, both, take up more than one block of space, which might make many ramps in a small area difficult. It might be possible with a parallel process, but those lag everything.
