Well... Here's what I would really like. Hopefully I can get my point across...
What I would like is a script for XP that changes how the battles look. I would like it if the game used the overworld sprites in battle; that way I wouldn't have to ask for custom battler sprites for every custom overworld sprite I make.
The basic change is, as I said, the use of characters' overworld sprites in battle. The menu itself can remain the same. I have a mock-up picture below. Simply put, this is how I would like my battles to look: the player team's sprites would be placed slightly above the bottom (attack/skill/guard) menu, facing away from view. The enemy would be below the top (fight/escape) menu, facing the players. I would like if the player characters' spacing would vary depending on their position (front/middle/back, of course)...
What I would also like - and this would probably be the hardest part - is if the characters moved forward a space before attacking. The animations from base XP would be fine, as long as they worked. Lastly... I want it so that if an enemy character dies, they simply vaporize as normal. But a player character's sprite would turn to one of its moving sprites for about ten frames, then turn to its down sprite... and the opposite if revived...
Now for my mock-up. Note that I have the three positions shown for player characters (front/middle/rear), as well as in the order they (would be) in the party.
If anyone's curious, I did search RMRK... every page of the XP scripts and several of the script request forum, as well as a general search. If I missed something, I am profoundly sorry.
If you have questions about this, just ask. I thank anyone who attempts to help me.
