Love this game. So friggin' awesome. I'm going bare-handed with my Khajiit right now. Already own whatever crosses my path. xD

@Ploopy:
Did the guards already come in and tell you to surrender (and then kill the captive if you don't surrender)? If so, the guard who killed him should have the key. Sometimes bodies can be thrown into the wall and disappear, hope that didn't happen to you. :O

Also, check the guards before the room with the prisoner you killed. They might carry it as well.
