Sagramore is a project that we have been working on for a couple of years now.
The project started out as a fun hobby but as we progressed and the project grew, so did our ambitions. With a first release in the near future I would like to give you all a small showcase of what we've been doing with our project
Sagramore so far.
Listed below are a few screenshots and a small summary about our game (ps. this is not RPG Maker)
The game is currently released as 'Alpha' version, it is playable on the website but lacks contentOrigin of SagramoreSagramore's origin lies in the passion of the team for the (MMO)RPG genre, a passion of the company founders goes back to the game Ragnarok Online in the golden year of 2003. From the many enjoyable moments grew the inspiration to create our own game. The experienced eye might find a couple of these 'Ragnarok Online' elements to have found their way into Sagramore. As the game grew over time we decided to go the extra mile and register a company name, Excalisoft.
What is Sagramore?Sagramore is a realtime 2D online browser (M)MORPG. It contains most elements you would expect from an MMORPG but puts the focus on mystery and social interaction. The world will live, npcs will seek out interaction with the world and its players. Next to the many Quests, maps, hidden caves and countless monsters we plan to build a world that offers the freedom to build your own clan castles and houses but also perhaps offers a foundation for a mod community to build their own maps, quests and stories. Although the latter is still a rough concept, it is certainly a possibility.
The game runs on our own 'Lumera' engine, which consists out of a c++ server, gmtools and a
mapeditor.
What makes Sagramore unique? The fact that our game runs in an HTML/Javascript environment is a unique feature, this wasn’t even possible until recently, but with the webbrowser becoming faster and reliable there will definitely be a market in this. This means that you can play Sagramore on many different devices for so long as they have a modern browser and a 'decent' CPU..
What are the features?Sagramore houses various different features which will be updated as development progresses. We also try to keep our community closely involved in the development proces to ensure that we are not ignoring missed opportunities.
Our main more unique features would be:
- Large world to explore. (and easy for us to expand)
- customizable characters (own facial hair / color features).
- Living world, NPCs will be able roam the world.
- Stats, Talents, jobclasses, professions
- Skill system with hidden skills you can unlock.
- Crafting system
- Item randomisation
- Many other things
What is the story about?Short summary
The player is a refugee from the continent of Gosta but doesn’t remember why he left. He accepts his fate and goes off to try his luck in this new continent called Asgard. The players are pulled through many adventures, battles and confrontations between inter racial wars. During the adventures a piece of the veil is lifted uncovering a dark myster that shakes the foundation of the world. (more on website)
