I've been around for a little while just trying to develop my game. I've reached a point where I can no longer simply figure things out on my own and I'm trying look for help. I've been sure to read any stickied topics carefully so that I don't make anyone mad.

So hello everyone. I'm not exactly new at RPG Maker (I started back when the only version available was the one translated by Don). I've never finished a game, but I'm pretty familiar with it. I'm no expert though, obviously.

Right now I just feel like I need to introduce myself and get to know the community better, since I expect to be sticking around for a little while.

I'm JonFawkes, a voice actor and artist. I won't advertise my stuff, if you want to see it you can check out my profile I guess, I don't want to bother anyone with that. I am currently a GM and Graphics Developer for a private Ragnarok Online server (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say, so if you're interested you can PM me) and a college student attending the University of California, Riverside, going for a Bachelor's in Theater.

I've come to recognize a lot of the names here, so I hope to be able to talk more personally with you all soon. I want to personally thank modern algebra for the help on my first topic.

So right now I just have a few questions regarding the community. Who is Zeriab? I've seen that name mentioned a few times and it's in some scripts that I am using but I don't think I've ever seen this user actually here. Maybe I just haven't been browsing enough.

Second, what does this emoticon :zwink: mean? I know it's a wolf winking, and I've seen it used by a lot of people (assuming that they think it's cool), but I feel like there is a deeper story to it. I'd love to hear it.

Once again, I look forward to what I can learn from this community.

To answer your first question, Zeriab is a much beloved martian that used to frequent these forums. He's Modern Algebra's predecessor and a master scripter, but his real life prevents him from coming on much anymore. If you ever see him, be prepared for a warm hug.

For your second question, that'd be my FOX smiley. I'll let you off with a warning this time since you were unaware, as long as you keep in mind that I will have your head if you call me a wolf again. I have absolutely no idea why people use it though, even I rarely ever use them much anymore.

Oh yeah, and welcome to RMRK! Hope you get all the help you need.

Oh my god, it's an Arctic fox. The most adorable and cuddly of them all (though I'm quite confident it could still rip faces off).
It represents the magnificent Bayard Zylos, a fox that has bridged the gap between human and fox interaction. The symbol brings forth a respect and admiration for Zylos, so that he may give us more warming cuddles.
And Zeriab, as the great Bayard said, was the king scripter for a long, long time. He is a Martian, and as such can't visit very often (though I have seen a recent spike in his activity). Modern Algebra is the de facto coding genius around here, and about 4 apprentices are studying under him. Zeriab's legacy and hugs live on in the hearts of all members.

Oh yeah, and  :zwelcome:
it's like a metaphor or something i don't know

*hugs JonFawkes welcome*

I hope your visit here will be fruitful and enjoyable ^_^
This is the first RPG Maker related forum I joined.
I am happy to see that my student, Modern Algebra, is doing so well and have students of his own.

P.s.  :zwink: is a self-portrait of the huggable Bayard

*hugs*
