Something I just finished writing. Note it was 4 AM when I wrote this so it might not even be coherent, but it is what it is. Let the words speak for themselves.
In these lyrics I basically sum up my feelings towards today's modern society.
How do I explain these fallacies?
All so twisted and disconnected, unnerving
Just like the wiring inside my brain
Oh, but none of us will ever start again
So please don't you refrain
I don't mind being the bearer of bad news
It seems everyone these days knows the world is desolate
Ignorant, apathetic and cynical
Perhaps we should all get drunk and sing the blues
Fulfill these pathetic soap opera views
Illusions of progress, prognosis:
We have the cure but lack the symptoms
Society rigid and spiteful
Backwards and static
An unanimous flawed dynamic
Carve your heart out of stone
Let your thoughts pour out on the floor
I want to be somebody's burden
Lost in my philosophical canyon
Pretentious artists and writers
Kind businessmen and gentle convicts
All our best friends, all the best hypocrites
The symptoms out of reach and the cure in our grasp
These backwards thoughts and reversed words
Illusions of progress, prognosis:
We have the cure but lack the symptoms
Society rigid and spiteful
Backwards and static
An unanimous flawed dynamic
Illusions of progress, prognosis:
We have the symptoms but lack the cure
Society is still rigid and spiteful
I want to believe there's something more
We are our own burden
still in rough draft stage, making edits here and there ~
