Has anyone else played this?

I completed it last night. It's not as scary per se as the previous games, more sort of creepy. It never made me scaredquit like the school part in FEAR 2. I won't give away the ending, but damn that was pretty surreal. Overall I like it, it's a nice closure to the Alma story arc. The gameplay is good, the guns are great, the AI is good as always, the graphics are neat (though I ran it on the lowest settings, it still looked great)

The bad points would be the cutscenes and animation I guess. The facial animation is Half Life 1 era, just flappy lower jaws.

Also, I don't recommend playing FEAR 3 if you haven't completed both FEAR 1 and 2. This game references many things from the previous two that you'd otherwise miss.

I wasn't a big fan of the first one, so I didn't play the second, but I heard that if you liked them the third is awesome. Someone told me that it only took 3 and a half hours to beat, though. Is that true?

I spent around 6 hours, I imagine a second playthrough would be much faster since I now know where to go etc =o

I watched a friend play through the first one and played the second on my own. I really enjoy those little scare moments.
Spoiler for:
I NOPE'd so hard when the game would put ammo facing a wall or a corner and after you would pick it up and turn around Alma would be right fucking behind you. Or when you follow the blood trail into the bathroom and on the way out you could see her in the mirror. Fuck that shit.
Does Fear 3 have well crafted moments like that?

It's less about trying to make you jump and more about trying to make you uneasy with the atmosphere. Sort of like the way amnesia does.

I liked that a few times the ambience would climax as if something was going to happen, but then nothing does. Kinda keeps you on your toes.

I played the first Fear, I never finished because I was too scared. I never played the second though. I have the third but it isn't very good in my opinion, it's not really scaring or making me uneasy because I know exactly when Alma will come and that I'll fight about 100 enemies before she does.
