UMS? [XP]

Hello all,

I know similar questions have been asked about this script. I was speaking (typing I guess) to ccoa for a short while and then she disappeared and I haven't heard back in months. I really love her UMS and its perfect for a commercial game I am working on called Dreamer. Now that I can't get into contact with her anymore I don't know the rules on using the script in a commercial game. Normally I wouldn't use something without the owner knowing but her script seems to be very popular and a lot of people use it so I'm not sure this time. (And I really love the script and want to use it (:   )

I would really appreciate if someone could help me know more about the usage on the script.

Also if it can't be used without her permission then I have questions about the AMS by dublex. I've heard a lot about this script too but also that it doesn't have as many features as ccoa's UMS.

I would say you probably can't use it in a commercial game without her permission. Generally speaking, the presumed license when a resource is posted by the author on a forum is that it can be freely used in any non-commercial project without further permission as long as credit is given. It probably can't be redistributed either unless it is packaged with a game. With her, it's a little more complicated since I seem to remember her going around taking down her threads everywhere. Of course, once a public license is given it can't really be withdrawn, but unless she explicitly authorized its use for commercial purposes in her original threads, then I think you technically cannot. Whether she would pursue legal action against you, IDK.

Her name is Sasha Harlow, and she's on facebook. Although I wouldn't bother her unless you're really serious about going commercial.

Dubealex doesn't seem to have any "Terms" posted for AMS

I am very serious about going commercial. If all goes according to plan Dreamer should be ready to be released sometime in July/ August but that is if I get a good messaging script very soon!

We spoke for a while over Deviantart and she sent me the license agreement but there was a few changes needed for it and after that I haven't heard anything again. I also messaged her on spongen just in case she wasn't using deviantart anymore. A couple months have passed and I've heard nothing. I found her on facebook so I suppose I can message her. I hope I am not being a bother to her though.

If I don't hear anything back I'll message dubealex about usage on his AMS.
