[Writing] "Thank You"

I smell sulfur as the lights go out on the street, I can feel him behind me as i'm walking. I say to myself "I know its you". I keep walking into the dark, Then I look up. A house light comes on and braces my eyes in light. I knew there was something helping me.. "Thank you"

I don't get it.
I keep thinking it probably has something to do with God and The Devil (because of Sulfur) but it makes no sense in my small brain
