My dad sent me an email to a graphic design position in the CIA. I'd be in D.C. but just outside the city.

QuoteYou will be a member of a team responsible for the production of interactive multimedia products that will be used to present complex intelligence analysis to senior policymakers, including the President of the United States. Opportunities exist to participate in internal training as well as external workshops and conferences.

Total epic.

But

QuoteFriends, family, individuals, or organizations may be interested to learn that you are an applicant for or an employee of the CIA. Their interest, however, may not be benign or in your best interest. You cannot control whom they would tell. We therefore ask you to exercise discretion and good judgment in disclosing your interest in a position with the Agency. You will receive further guidance on this topic as you proceed through your CIA employment processing.

So now I can't. haha. Which is totally fine, cause I have to take a polygraph test, blood test, drug test, background investigation and a psychological exam. I'm certain I'd fail at least 1 of those. Plus, I obviously can't NOT tell people that I'd be working for the fucking CIA. I would think of far too many spy movies and shit and can't keep composure for something like this.

Still. Makin shit for the President. awesome.

Plus, my knowledge of politics sucks dick. I actually didn't get a job once because of this. lol

So shouldn't the topic say "could have worked"? :V

Sophist

What makes you so sure you're going to fail one of the exams? A background investigation is whether or not you've committed a serious offense, not whether you ate a communist sandwich last thursday.

Yeah, it sounds like a cool job - I think you should go for it.

Whether or not you've been -convicted- or -on trial- for a serious offense. They won't know about that one time you evaded a parking ticket.

Oh yeah, I totally sent in my resume, portfolio and coverletter in like an hour ago. If I get an interview, I'd have to delete this topic immediately haha. Then again, I doubt it'd matter if I get to the polygraph and they're like "Have you told anyone of your interest in this position?" lol

Japur

Holy crap dude, that would be so awesome. I would know what I'd do.

But... didn't you already fuck by telling us this? :P

Irock

I wouldn't want to work for the CIA. What a god damn piece of shit agency.

Grafikal

Downside is that any job I have after that one wouldn't know that I worked there and none of the stuff I produce could ever be in my portfolio lol.

Sophist

Except other branches of the Government. They could know.
