I HAVE noticed there is another project much the same as this already posted in your forums. PLEASE this is in no way an attempted copy. If there is content that seem very alike it was by complete ACCIDENT and I AM WILLING to remove certain parts of my game if it causes offence to another games owner.

What I want the project to aim at is a massive world full of original maps, sprites and the like that is completely interactive. Meaning every wall can be examined, every tree used and every door operable. Everything you do throughout the game can/will influence your character and depending on who your character is and what they have done the people and creatures they interactive with will behave differently. Now i know projects like this have been attempted and finished before- some of them amazing- but it would still be nice having mine among them.

This will be updated shortly. I apologize for it being so poorly written but it was rather rushed.

Kyrse, a world that has existed for millions of years. This planet has been the very key to all existence since its creation by the goddess whom her worshipers call The Mother. However as time moved Kyrse fell into an infinite cycle of life and death. Throughout the ages race after race has called Kyrse home and yet eventually every race is wiped clean with the coming of Tokunarai- the end of the world.

Only the gods see it coming, or even know of its existence.

You start the game as a character of your choosing. Create its appearance, gender, personality, race and much more before choosing your starting age and the location you are to call home. To begin with you have very little, where you start determines your family, your beginning job and your first main quest however as you progress the whole world changes with you. Everything your character is influences how he/she associates with people of varying personalities and genders. What you do and the things you say and have said influence this also.

Time passes and with it opportunities come and go, with an assortment of over four main storylines and hundreds of side quests, factions, jobs and much more your character can become just about anything. Should you start in the small forest town Huktay your character may find he is being asked on a special journey however not long after you embark a vicious storm soon finds you lost and alone with little memory to call upon. It is now your quest to find out just who you are.

But maybe your more of a city dweller? Find your home among Mellru's bustling streets and discover the mystery behind the sky rider Sithis. Will you join his side or become a great foe as both your fates quickly entwine. But never fear, if you are the kind to shy away from the wide world join the Se-wolven race who primarily dwell in the Kamukii inner sanctum. Will you be the first to make peace with the Kajj or will you join the war in the front-lines?

Don't waste your life on petty tasks though... you never know how much time you will have...

I have yet to completely update this section.

Spoiler for:
Wolven
Supposedly descendant of the guides the Wolven are a strong willed bunch however they are still dependent on instinct, as such they can often make the wrong decisions. They are primarily pack animals so the chances of finding a stray Wolven is very low however it is possible. Stray Wolven however are often dangerous and savage having completely given in to common wolf instinct.

Common wolves

Se-Wolven
Wolven-Human hybrids, inheriting the Wolven’s strong will and the human’s intelligence they are a fierce bunch and not a race to be reckoned with, they are more than willing to fight for what they believe. Being one of the most excepting species their doors are open to all those but the Kajj.

Humanoid wolves

Kajj
Dumb and severely aggressive, this race doesn’t mingle well with anyone but their own kind. Getting into any kind of Kajj faction is extremely hard unless you know what you’re doing. Although they are very rough on the outside Kajj are quite helpful given the right conditions.

Humanoid pigs

Siethan
Siethan are fast and strong, fierce predators with the keenest smell of the races. The make ideal hunters and their wares are often rare and well worth the walk to their villages. However they hold grudges and one would not want to make an enemy of the race clearly created for the hunt.

Humanoid Lizards

Feverith
Not much is known about this race other then that they share some connection to the mother herself, they are smart, wise and extremely beautiful folk with the unusual ability to shape-shift into large wolf like creatures with extra limbs such as wings, extra tails and the like.

Pale-Skinned Humans

Sociecte
The demon race of Kyrse, Sociecte are vicious and often born insane. They are however very nurturing to those they are related to as well as close friends and Se-Wolven. Few of them make it past childhood but those who survive can live for hundreds of years.

Winged/Horned Demons

Human
The most common of all races and the most hated. It is said humans where the creatures to eradicate the guides however it is un-proven. Most hostile towards the Sociecte humans have the unusual ability to see the strengths and weaknesses in other creatures.

Largely Ranged

Guides
At one time they came in all shapes and sizes all over the world. They where not quite a race in themselves but more a sub-race all creatures shared. They came in forms from eagles to mice but unlike others of their species they where amazingly smart and held the gift to control the elements. They called this Magic.

Any Form But Human

Seymanda
Water-bound fish usually found in beach towns. They are rare and few but still enough to label a race and not some in-bred accident. Not much is know about them but both Seithans and humans take great pride in wearing their skins.

Spoiler for:
In the world around us we have many people with different views regarding genders. Its a largely debated topic so why should something this huge be disregarded from a game that aims to have as many lifestyle features as possible?

In Kyrse you are likely to meet and interact with many people who value one gender over the other and at times it can damage or prevent relationships with another character, this is a complicated issues especially if you need information that they just wont cough up. Trying to be nice might just make things worse and no matter how long you play and how many tricks you learn how a character reacts to your gender or a party members gender will be completely unpredictable.

Racist
read more
Spoiler for:
In our world this isn't just a topic but a world-wide issue, so to is it in Kyrse. With so many races of course your going to get arguments over who is the smartest, the fastest, the toughest and so on. Wars rage between them and other races are often caught in the crossfire much like the Kajj and wolven/se-wolven war. Humans are caught drastically in between and any one of these races have difficulty crossing several "claimed" lands.

As if this sort of argument is complicated enough there are even sub-race racism. Wolven, human and elven skin/fur colour range drastically from area to area and although there is clearly no difference other than that its still a dangerous topic for all involved.

Religion
read more
Spoiler for:
Religion, yet another complicated matter. First you have major religions that are known worldwide, then you have smaller ones know around certain countries or tribes but perhaps the most unknown are the cults and underground factions. In Kyrse you will never be told what is the true religion (other then by preachers) so it is entirely your choice as to what path you follow.

Religion effects alot about your character right up to certain abilities and stats. It can also be changed at anytime however its dangerous and often suicidal to do so. Some religions who worship sithis are likely to hunt you down for months or even years.

ROUGH HISTORY
This is basic knowledge for all young in Kyrse.
Spoiler for:
Many years ago long before mans cruelty savaged the earth and destroyed their home there lived creatures said to be more powerful then even the deathliest of magic’s. These creatures had come to be known as guides among those who lived upon the now desecrated soil. These “Guides” came in many forms, from eagle to buck, but perhaps the most common and well respected of these sacred creatures were those who came in the form of the quick witted wolf or the wise fox. One such wolf guide was respected above all other, this wolf was called Innockato. For many years she worked hard on the resurrecting of the ever-dying earth, her magic weaving together new homes and lands like the gods long before her had created the world as a whole. Her magic alone was the most powerful any being had ever held and as she worked those around her slowly began to know her as The Mother, the re-creator of all things and the holy light of life.

All creatures stood in respect for her and no sooner has she begun her merciless quest that one by one the other creatures bowed down to her, seeing her as their rightful ruler. With her magic and the allegiance of the creatures of Kyrse she rebuilt the earth and all where prosperous under her kind and nurturing rule. No one dared challenge her judgment or perhaps no one wanted too. This was true to a fact that even the selfish humans helped in keeping together this cosmic balance of all things so eventually a union was formed, a union of both guides and mortals who acted as the messengers of The Mother. They protected those who needed protecting and with their combined strengths revived the very last of the earth back to its full glory. Yet, the humans grew weary. They where overwhelmed by jealousy of the guides great gifts so after many years one such human stepped up to The Mother herself pleading they be granted the same gifts so that they might help to their full extent. The Mother was a kind soul, she agreed perhaps to easily to this request and with her great power gave all creatures the ability to harness magic. She then taught them how to use it, where to harness mana and how to control their newfound power.

So, as promised the creatures used these great gifts to protect for a time but as these gifts took their toll the humans gradually become corrupt. One by one other creatures where stripped of their gifts by the humans, they worked in secret making sure no one spoke of what they had done or what they where planning to do. Soon it was the guide’s turn to be stripped of their strength and thrust beneath the merciless magic of their kind. Instead however the guides where destroyed, refusing with the very ounce of their life to let their gifts be taken from them they fought to the death.

It was then the mother stepped forth, eyes burning with anger as she set upon the humans with both tooth and claw. Before the night had ended she had slain hundreds but not without toil, her boded so wounded she struggled to move but instead fought from her place on the earth. The green grass tainted with her blood and that of the treacherous humans. Soon however the great king of their time set forth his army with full strength, slaying the great Mother with both human sorcery and brute force.

The king then took her blood and body into his own believing this would grant him great power, following his example so too did his worriers in hope of creating an unbeatable kingdom but instead brought destruction in the form of a deathly disease. This disease was named Turmouil. It cursed the world for years to come bringing with it more illnesses that destroyed the earth, the sky and the sea. People fell to their knees in prayer as their loved ones fell around them, begging the soul of the mother to protect those they held dear. However not everyone begged the mother. Over the years more gods came about, those who where close to the mother or those who where completely non-existent. The creatures became desperate then one day a guide stepped forward. At first their was panic, her they not eradicated these beings? Where the back to seek the worlds final destruction? No, instead the fox guide spoke clearly. A Prophecy.

When the world was one and the child of both fox and wolf was born there would be an uproar, those who remained forever loyal would be revived by the touch of the un-born. They would save the world.

He then vanished from the earth…
To this prophecy hundreds stepped forward preaching their gifts yet as these numbers grew the faith of those still living dwindled. The fox guide and his prophecy was all but forgotten and the existence of the mother denied. The world had always been this way and this way it would always be.

As Turmouil spread like an untameable fire humans found safety among the other beings of the world like they had not for many years. A union was formed, solid and strong yet unlike the tales of old there was no side greater than the other. They watched over their people protecting them from the disease and soon it became a rare sight and yet the people where not happy. The prophecy had come back into existence in the dreams of the faithful, The Mother was returning…

Akist
Spoiler for:
Age: 24
Race: Wolven
Personality:
Akist says very little and as such is regarded as an idiot. This however is totally wrong, he is very intelligent but prefers to hide this to avoid arguments and other peoples expectations.

He is very friendly and holds his friends in high regard but unfortunately has the nasty habit of putting himself down for everything he does. Even when it involves doing something that was profitable to everyone.

Appearance:
Akist is roughly eight feet tall yet unusually slender. His ears droop slightly at all times and his once long tail is now nothing but a stub. His hands are large with thick black claws that often hide beneath his medium length dark grey fur.

His eyes are green in colour and although his tongue is a soft pink shade his gums and lips are a dark brown as is the rest of his skin.

History:
Akist was born and raised in the Kamukii Inner Sanctum and in all his life never went any further than the prairie crossroads. At around the age of nine his family was hunted by a group of rebel Kajj whom only left Akist untouched due to the simple fact it would cause him more suffering to live than die.

Since then Akist has labored a dreadful grudge towards the Kajj and in relation the humans. He can usually be found in Lulis armory or in the arena storage where he can keep a safe distance from human travelers.

Sithis
Spoiler for:
Age: Ageless
Race: God
Personality:
Sithis is shifty and occasionally very abrasive. He values little above himself and his pride often overrules his logic. For the most part he keeps to himself unless of course he feels the need to cause havoc among the lands he watches so intently. There is however a kinder side to himself reserved  only for the mother herself. There is little he would not do for her and the fact there is still life in his world is clear proof of that.

Appearance:
as a human he is very small, thin and frail. He is quite amused in taking the appearance of a young Gothic child roughly the age of thirteen however his primary form is that of a red fox. His eyes are usually brown in colour but for the sake of overdoing himself he often changes it to purple or orange shade. Being the size of an average dog he favorites luring hunters into an endless chase.

History:
Having been around for so long its hard to distinguish truth from fact.

Yeah, the mapping is great and the features do sound pretty unique. It definitely shows that you have put a lot of thought not just into the plot but into the world and history. I am definitely looking forward to this game.

I will say that the right alignment for the features is not very pretty though and kind of hard to read. That's just a format thing of course, but I think it would be good if you changed it.

Winter is here.
Grammatical errors abound. I would recommend fixing those.

I suppose I can dig this, even if it something of an acquired taste. Admittedly, I'm not big on the whole anthropomorphic aspect of the game, but I can look past that. I'll just tell myself I'm playing as a worgen.

Anyway, aside from that, I love your mapping, though some of your screenshots lead me to believe that improvements can be made, particularly in the reddish cave in the third screenshot. That light effect is kind of fail, tbh. (Assuming it wasn't intentional. I really don't know, now do I?)

So yeah, that. Good luck with this.

Thank you for pointing that out, i will get to fixing it shortly.

As for the tinting yes i do find it a bit off-colour also. I'm still not quite sure how to work with cave tinting so a lot of the maps for those areas are touch and go. I think i might try a few new mediums and see what works better.

Thank you for taking the time to check it out regardless.  :zpant:
