I thought I'd seen that Inception poster before. Eh, I won't go out of my way to see it, but I'll watch it when it comes round to TV.
I'm much too lazy to put an actual signature here.

Zylos

I've heard it's gotten some very good reviews. Think you can elaborate in a non-spoiler way?

Sounds like just the movie for me. Or hippies. Or people on LSD.

Or you when you're hugging a tree on LSD.

It's directed by the same person as the Dark Knight. It even has quite a few of the same cast members, and even the same soundtrack composer. That's where the similarities END, though, as this movie is something much deeper and much greater than most other movies you've seen. It's not impossible to follow, if you just pay attention, but beyond having a super-interesting story, the way it's executed is absolutely flawless.

If this movie were done by anyone else, with anyone else, it would have failed miserably. It's very science-fiction, and it is about dreams and breaking in to other people's dreams, but good lord, the way it's executed actually makes you BELIEVE in what you're seeing, and the tension and action is the best I've ever seen in a movie.

Oh man, there's this one action scene that takes place inside a hotel hallway while it is spinning around. And the one guy is, like, crawling from one wall to the next, standing up on each wall as the world spins around. It's so unbelievable natural, and I honestly have NO fucking idea how they even accomplished that scene. It seems physically impossible, but it's so believable.

That's pretty much the vein of the entire movie, whether it's the story or the action. It's SEEMS impossible, but it LOOKS believable.

And I would NOT describe it as a feel-good movie. There were moments where I honestly felt a little terrified at my own reality, and what this movie was implying. You know, the "what ifs" and such.

Now, I'm a big supporter of Imax, even when it's not 3D. In my opinion if you don't see this in theaters with a sound system as good as in an Imax theater, you are seriously missing out on the experience. The sound design and soundtrack are also very incredible in this movie.

Waiting for HD release. But I want to see it, going from all the bawwing or raging that people are doing over the ending (which I still know nothing about) =o. Apparently it's quite polarizing.

It's not REALLY a spoiler, because it doesn't give away any of the plot or anything, but
people are probably angry that the director(s) didn't just hand them the truth at the end, because people are idiots and don't want to think and form their own opinions.
Sophist

I saw a preview of this somewhere in theaters and it looked pretty out there, like, The Cell weird. But apparently people are flipping shit and saying it's the movie to watch this season. Waiting for Roph to upload an HD release ;*

One of my favorite movies ever. Saw it a couple days ago. I was mind fucked. Ending didn't disappoint me - I called that last 30 seconds way before it happened (IMO best way to end it).
Personally, I'd like to think that the top did fall. It was wobbly enough for me to assume that.
I was gonna see it but i saw Toy story 3 instead :<

I want to see it :(

Zylos

I just saw it this morning at the mall, and I wasn't disappointed. =O

FireLupine

Just went and seen it...fantastic...

Ruzu

Man everyone is so lucky, the commercials got me interested I wanted to go see it. Glad to see it wasn't disappointing.
Deceased, the memories of time flow ever lasting. Let the passion of the living and the dead touch you, and give you their wisdom.

I'd sooner die than leave your side, I'd sooner rust than let you die.

Grafikal

I didn't even know what the thing was about from the commercials. I got that it had something to do with dreams and the filming looked crazy and the art direction was pretty sweet, but that was about it.

PS. I can't wait for Tron to come out. I'ma watch that shit IMAX 3D so hard. MAX EXPERIENCE!

Moss.

I absolutely loved how vague the commercials and trailers were.

Zylos

I can't think of words for this other than amazing.
The ending kinda annoyed me just because I was hanging in there so tight to see what would happen. Kinda like having sex with someone and then they pull away before you can finish, telling you to go finish off on your own. At the same time, it's really fitting and lets me believe what I want to.
I can't remember which movie the trailer was for, but I think it was some sort of action movie or something, but the entire trailer explained in detail the whole plot and the twists of the film. I just remember my friend and I turning to each other and laughing at how we got to watch an unexpected short film before the movie.

It's even better the second time. You pick up on things you didn't (and couldn't) notice before, and you get a much deeper understanding of plot elements. I think what impresses me the most about this movie is that anyone can sit down and watch it, and be entertained, but if you really analyze and follow the plot very closely, you'd be surprised just how possible it all seems, and how much sense it all makes on a psychological level.

:tinysmile::tinysmile:

Sophist

I went and saw it last night, and man I love a good movie to wrap my head around.
I love the ending, the question for yourself if it was a dream or not just as it started to tilt one way. The first thing I thought was that it wasn't a dream after all, but on the drive back I questioned if whether it was only going to fall because he accepted that it wasn't a dream even if it was. Just like Mal had done, he couldn't figure out if it was true reality anymore, and it was the dream that was going to push down the top. I might just be overanalyzing it, but I'm pretty sure that was Nolan's idea to have the viewer think, the whole see it as you want point of view.
I really loved the film overall, and the ending was pure genius.

Just can't wait to see it a second time so I can pick up on all the finer points I missed the first time round. I just hope they don't mess it up by making a sequel. Please for the love of God, just don't.

Arwym

Cannot wait to see it, but I will wait.  :)
