What do you think would be good?

This seems like the right place, I never really asked for something related to this but either way if I mess up with putting it here then I don't truly know. Either way, let me ask before I go on ranting. I'm comming up with a project I'm not sure what game maker I want to use (rpgmaker xp,vx,2000,2003, etc.) so I was wondering what would be best for a western game. I don't plan to really have magic involved in this game, nor monsters or the sort.

The party if you have any would basically consist of one man, so I was thinking an ABS system but maybe an RPG-Style game would go good with this, to be honest I'm also working on my spriting skills to make a 2D game like megaman ZX, but I wanted to make this since its easier to work on in the two weeks I'll be on summer vacation.

So, basically what I'm asking is what game maker program should I use, what battle system would most be interested to see in a western type game?

I don't believe this counts as asking for support but I could be wrong, so anyway. Yeah...Here it is.
Deceased, the memories of time flow ever lasting. Let the passion of the living and the dead touch you, and give you their wisdom.

I'd sooner die than leave your side, I'd sooner rust than let you die.

XP has BlizzABS, arguably the easiest to configure script ever.
VX has PRABS2 which is rather good.

It depends on what maker you like more, or what has the scripts you need.
