The United States has blocked demands at the UN security council for an international inquiry into Israel's assault on the Turkish ship carrying aid to Gaza that left nine pro-Palestinian activists dead.

A compromise statement instead calls for an impartial investigation which Washington indicated could be carried out by Israel.

Turkey pressed for the security council to launch an investigation similar to Richard Goldstone's inquiry into last year's fighting in Gaza which prompted protests from Israel when it concluded that Israel and Hamas were probably guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Ankara wanted the investigation into the raid on the Mavi Marmara to result in the prosecution of officials responsible for the assault and the payment of compensation to the victims.
But in hours of diplomatic wrangling, the US blocked the move and instead forced a statement that called for "a prompt, impartial, credible and transparent investigation conforming to international standards". The US representative at the security council discussions, Alejandro Wolff, indicated that Washington would be satisfied with Israel investigating itself when he called for it to undertake a credible investigation.

The Israeli government is certain to launch its own inquiry in part as a response to domestic criticism that its forces were ill-prepared for the resistance they met on the ship. But any self-inquiry is likely to be met with the same scepticism beyond Israel's borders that met its investigations into last year's Gaza war and its 2006 invasion of Lebanon which criticised aspects of the handling of the operations but did not challenge the underlying claim that they were essential for Israel's security.

The Americans also blocked criticism of Israel for violating international law by assaulting a ship in international waters in the security council statement proposed by Turkey, the Palestinians and Arab nations.
The US instead forced a broader statement that condemned "those acts which resulted in the loss" of life.

However, the security council statement did criticise Israel's siege of Gaza as "not sustainable" and called for a "sustained and regular flow of goods and people to Gaza, as well as unimpeded provision and distribution of humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza".
Turkey's foreign minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, called the raid on the Mavi Marmara "tantamount to banditry and piracy; it is murder conducted by a state".

The French ambassador to the UN, Gerard Araud, said "there was disproportionate use of force and a level of violence which nothing justifies and which we condemn".
Wolff told the security council that the organisers of the flotilla had been irresponsible in trying to deliver aid by sea in the face of the Israeli blockade.

This is bullshit. Where the fuck is the justice? The way the West turns a blind eye to Israel's crimes is criminal.

So let me get this straight, the United States is going against the UN and just saying "Well fuck, let's just let them conduct their own investigation for their actions and be done with it..."?

That's like asking Michael Jackson to investigate whether he really molested any children. It's impossible to know whether they're conducting a real investigation or just covering their own asses and looking for scapegoats/excuses, whether they are in fact innocent or guilty of the crimes they're looking to be investigated for.

it's time to poke
I don't know why such a big stink is being made over what is, for the most part, a routine Visit Board Search and Seizure mission.

Maybe the stamp "unarmed peace activists" is igniting the ire, but nobody seemed to give a shit when North Korea blew the fuck out of that South Korean ship or when the USS Kitty Hawk opened fire on a civilian airliner over the pacific (with a Phalanx CIWS, I might add).

The people aboard the Mavi Marmara were looking for trouble, and none of the other groups resisted violently when their ships were boarded, so the IHH obviously had something to hide.

The Israeli army tried to confiscate all cameras and etc, but at least one was successfully smuggled out. This is something Israel doesn't want you to see.

As a good little jew I should probably just ignore this crap, having not being here to begin with when you guys first started mistaking facts with fiction...

But since it's the top thread in another sub-forum, well, I might as well just say something about it.

Ok so:
DON'T COMPARE ISRAEL TO GOD DAMN Michael Jackson.
Unlike actual criminals or any of those shady countries like say TURKEY who might be sabotaging things, Israel is actually investigating.
The main reason is that no one lets jews get away with anything, so faking an investigation is just going to backfire.
God knows why would Israel even need to investigate anything but the god damn idiot who sent soldiers to be lynched. (and guess who STILL wasn't fired?)

Now roph what on earth are those videos showing?
they show that there were injuries and deaths, Israel never hide it.
I mean I guess that if YOU were being lynched you would do what... sit there and die maybe?
A normal person has little choice when he is forced to face death.

The whole thing actually went kind of like this:
1. Israel, facing a yet another stubborn group of blockade breakers, was once more begging them to just unload the cargo in Ashdod port, then it would arrive it's destination.
2. The friendly people aboard said "fuck you, go back to germany"
and other friendly things like "I want all you jews dead and stuff ^_^"
(Later on the turks approved some of the friendly peace lovers were in fact hoping to become Shahids (some of them got what they wished for, go figure)
3. So after they stated over and over what they want to do (break a blockade, the other stuff is offensive and yet not illegal), Israel acted according to the naval laws and sent some soldiers to arrest some assholes, this was done many times before without any casualties, and was done later on, and was done at the same time with 5 other ships (You'd think some of you would figure that Israel can't be at fault if that's the case but no...)
4. Soldiers were lowered with paintball guns, this is usually effective against small groups of people, and if they were indeed there for "peace reasons" that would be enough here.
5. It seems the friendly people on board had metal rods, slingshots and knives ready, they even filmed themselves getting ready for the lynch, it's even in the videos 'Israel doesn't want you to see" (really? really?!)
6. 500 people with metal rods vs about 10 soldiers with paintball guns.
7. What would you do if you are being beaten up, even thrown out of the boat? if the handguns of 2 of your teammates were stolen and are now used to fire against you?
The soldiers took their handguns out and SHOT those who attacked them.
This includes the friendly bastards who stole their guns, and this is also why there were people with bullets in their heads, Those are trained soldiers, they are being fired at and lynched, yes, they still hit perfectly.
Do you really blame them? Really?

In conclusion Turkey needs to be ashamed of itself for supporting this.
But turkey is probably too busy butchering kurds
do you care? no, when a muslim kills someone NO ONE CARES.
Muslims it seems are allowed to kill for land, for being mocked or you know just for hating your guts.
Jews? They aren't allowed to kill anyone even if they are being lynched.

I mean really?!
How many muslims  american soldiers are killing every day?
How many of them are being killed by those muslims?
(British soldiers too)
How many minorities are the turks going to get rid of before you'll care about who Muslims kill?
What about all those terrorist in india?
And all the worldwide genocides?
Did you people even heard of those?
Or when Russia invaded Georgia ? You cared for about 2 days.
Was Russia asked to do anything at all about it? You are too scared to deal with the real criminals.

You seem to care a lot more about the jews not dying for you.
I mean seriously, THE FUCK?

So the next time you feel like saying "Dude those Jews are murderers, pirates and ... JEWISH" just think about all the happiness everyone else brings to this world.
9 people died.
Some of the soldiers will never fully recover.
That's the price of another day in an endless war.
It's not special.
It doesn't call for an investigation, it calls for IDF to think about better ways to handle hundreds of people without threatening the lives of it's own soldiers and thus avoiding them being forced to fire.

But remember that every other time, and there have been quite a few, there wasn't even a fight.
So it's impossible that IDF is after human blood.
(BTW I like the red paint in the second video, I mean how does that work for you? we hear the soldiers are entering the scene on another place in the boat, none of them got to that room, and yet there is an entire wall filled with so called blood, how? did they get one of the injured people and use him like a mop to decorate the wall? Well it's IHH after all... so Maybe?)
holy shit my sig was big!
