This irritates me. As much as what the parents did. Almost always in these cases there is someone who suspects something is wrong (not saying this person did, but they had neighbors), but no one does anything because they don't want to get involved. They're afraid of the abuser, or afraid they're wrong, or just afraid of the government coming into their homes and looking into their personal lives too much. People like that are just as culpable.
And I agree with Firerain, those people should have to go through everything they put that child through. Some people do not deserve children. I don't understand this world
