hey, im having some major problems with my game. ive tryed everything i know of. what happens is in the beginning scene, i have the hero run from out behind a tree and kill 2 guards, then the remaining guards are to attack him, then after the fight, dialog starts. there are 2 ways ive been trying this. the first was to lock the players motions and have some other event do the scene like a stunt double, then simply transfer the player to the same spot the dummy ended after the fight, but that keeps freezing and crashing my game. the other was to simply have an event control the main character in doing all the stunts, but that also freezes the game. and every once in a while i get, "hanging script" error. can anyone help?

heres my game im trying.

Try to use self switches, you are using a new switch for each page.  You can prevent the player from moving by setting to auto run, how ever any movements on the map or actions for that case must be done in that event.

also here this fixed it.

hmm, even in your edit it still mess's up. the enemies dont go into theyre down state and after the fight he doesnt regain control. mayby its my windows 7, or mayby my rmxp is corrupt. either way, thanks for helping.

Mr_Wiggles

yea no problem, also i don't no all that much about blizzabs either.  but it did get past that script hanging error though so that helps.

Question. Are you useing an Auto-Start? First if you're not...you should. Second, are you useing Variables to control the scene (meaning what happens and when it happens), again, if you're not, you should. I guess I kinda want to know what you're doing, like the basics, I don't need to know all the details... A number of things could be messing you up. If you're useing a bunch of events, that have things in them, or one Event controling the whoel scene...or something in between, things could be getting mixed up. An Auto-Start sounds like it might be the problem if it's freezeing.

Try using parralell process, then use a switch to kill the event.

^ if you do use self switches, but i agree with Kidfox70, try to make everything in that scene work in one auto run event. besides if the scene involves the player not being able to move during it, this will "turn" off player controls as well.

Why, Mr.Wiggles that was one of the main points I forgot to make in why to use an Auto-Start. Also, using a self switch at the end of everything can and will easly kill the Auto-Start, by adding an other page. Using a switch is kinda not needed, unless it really calls for it. You end up using alot of Switches in a game and if you use switches to just kill things that can be easly done with a Self Switch...but thats just me. Using Variables in a Scene is great, because you can use one Variable for the whole scene. One of the only times you should use a Switch is if you're giving the Player a choice. If he choices this then that happens, but if he chooses that, then this happens...Yeah I think thats the Idea.

Also if you use "erase event" that will only temporally delete it, when the player leaves the map and re-enters it will act like the event never happened and repeat its self.
