Test Play shutdown

I have RPG Maker 2k3, and everything works fine until I test play.

The title screen will show and I can move through the menu on the title screen but as soon as I press New Game, I either get this message '' and it shuts down and goes back to the map creator, or I get a message saying '?/Program Files/RPG Maker 2003/RTP/Project/DB/?'

No matter what I do, even started a new project, it all does the same thing, does anyone know what the problem might be? also, before this started happening, i had a curropted project i think, i tried messing with it but i kept getting a black map terrain screen.

Reinstall Rm2k3.

Yeah I finally figured it out, when i reinstalled it, i realised that the Hero placement was gone and being very new to it, i had no idea what to do until yesterday, but thank you.
