RMRK.net has nothing to do with Blockchains, Cryptocurrency or NFTs. We have been around since the early 2000s, but there is a new group using the RMRK name that deals with those things. We have nothing to do with them.
NFTs are a scam, and if somebody is trying to persuade you to buy or invest in crypto/blockchain/NFT content, please turn them down and save your money. See this video for more information.

So I'm trying to play a few RM2k/2k3 games like A Blurred Line and Everlong, and I've noticed that the music is "choppy", like it's not playing at a constant speed. It seems to randomly slow down and speed up.

This happens whether I start the game using the RPG_RT.exe in the game's directory, or if I start RPG Maker, load the project, and listen to the music from the game. The midis play normally in Windows Media Player.

The volume is fine, I'm using the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth. My computer is an Athlon X2 3800+ with 2GB RAM, and the games themselves are smooth - it's just the music that's not playing properly.

I'm using RM2k3 1.08 and I've tried installing the Disharmony audio patch to no avail. I've also searched these forums and google with no luck. Can anyone help me? :)

Wow, I think I fixed this as well as a similar problem I've been having with other games (Dragon Age: Origins, Dungeon Siege, and a few others.)

I need to open Task Manager and set RPG_RT's affinity to only one of the CPU cores. Apparently this is a somewhat common issue with playing single-threaded games on a dual-core processor.
