Battle Sprites (Ships, Enemies, Etc) are mostly from 'Super Robot Wars' Series (I've had these sprites forever and unfortunately cannot recall the names of the original rippers - credits go to them none-the-less)

Story:
In the year 2631, humanity faces its darkest time in history. The planet Earth is quickly dying. Most of the planet’s surface became unstable and was torn apart by violent storms, fissures and volcanic eruptions. Only a select few areas of the planet can support life in safety, but the population knows that one day the entire planets surface will become uninhabitable.

A team of scientists and researchers discovered a nearby solar system that has planets in its orbit that can support life. Work quickly began on the Epsilon Gate, an accelerated warp tunnel that could propel an object to another solar system.

Upon completion of the Epsilon Gate, a crew was put together to establish colonies on the new planet and around its orbit. The other aspect of this mission was to construct a duplicate of the Epsilon Gate so that the crew could return with news of their success. The mission timeline was 10 years.

After the 10 years had passed, and the crew never returned, the mission was assumed to be failed. The Epsilon Gate was dismantled and humanity accepted that their grim fate could not be changed.

The year is now 2644, and those who were lost, have now found their way back to the world that had forsaken them 13 years ago.

Confrontation: The Two Worlds (Alpha Release 0.3)
http://www.mediafire.com/?imxojqyyykg

In this release, a few improvements have been made since the original 'Confrontation: The Duel' demo was released. I'm still working tirelessly on the story mode and unfortunately I don't have a sampler for that yet. However I did include a new opponent. The new enemy (Spectre) is a nasty little creature I must say. It moves a lot differently than Zephyr and has more intelligent weapons (In other words, it fires in your direction if you try to hide behind it). And it's energy absorbing shield is a real nuisance too, I recommend not hitting the body more than 10 times... It's weak spot is the head once separated from the body...

With the "Hero Ships" old weapon system, this battle would be practically impossible.. Good news is that I updated that too.. Introducing the "Button Masher"! You can fire rapidly by repetitively hitting the fire button. Having this ability makes the Zephyr Battle a breeze.. Spectre is still a pain though...

I do know the Spectre Battle has a couple bugs; like not firing in certain conditions / Spectre's head being damagable while attached to the body (doesn't happen often) and a couple minor things.. I'll be ironing these out soon, but if anyone notices any other bugs, please let me know  8)

And of course if anyone has any suggestions/ideas; I'm always open to the feedback!

I've finally got a video demo of the game play itself. Mind you the video is a little choppy (Actual game play is pretty smooth) but it gives a worthy demonstration:

Weeeee!
That looks very good. :D
But I've got a question to ask, do all of the enemies share the same projectile sprite as you?

With the exception of the homing shot that Spectre fires, it`s pretty well for the meantime... However future enemies will have more creative and colorful attacks.. as far as the existing enemies; I may tweak the sprites at a later time. I do appreciate the feedback though!
