Unable to move character/cursor?

Reading through this forum inspired me to go through my old RPG Maker creations, only then did I come upon a terrible discovery: I can't move my character/cursor!

In short, the keys seem completely odd. The only keys that respond are the right Alt key, the 0 key on the NumPad, and Esc.  I can't move the cursor on start-up, and once I actually begin a game, I can't move the character.

The arrow keys work in the Editor itself, as well as any other non-RPG Maker programs/games.  This happens with both RPG Maker 2000 games and 2k3 games.

I'm at a complete loss for what to do here: I've ended any extraneous programs that could interfere, I've pressed every other possible key, and even tried my on-screen keyboard to see if it was some odd voodoo on my physical one.  No results. -_-

I tried to search these forums and also did some googling, but I've turned up nothing.

Anyone gone through anything similar or just have some advice?

Om nom nom nom
In the games you're trying to run, do you have any "Auto-Start" events running?  ???

No, they don't.  I've tried various games made by others, as well as setting a map with no events with all passable terrain as a start point, to no avail. : (

EDIT:
Oddly enough, I turned on my PC this morning and the problem had resolved itself...  Thanks for replying. : D
