Is there a way to make the map name show up as you enter a never-before-ventured map using events (and no images, if possible) or would I have to find a script? The reason I would rather use events is to avoid any potential script compatibilty issues in the future of the game.

No, you'd need images if you wanted to do it with events.

However, a Map name popup script would have to be very strangely written to be incompatible with very many scripts. I think that's one of the safer scripts to grab and if you do encounter some incompatibilities, just post about them in the Script Support board and I'm sure some poeple on the forum will help you hammer out the problems.

I don't know much about scripting (scratch that, I know squat about scripting; I know only internet languages like PHP, HTML, and CSS) so I just try to use as few scripts as possible. Anyway thanks, I will look for such a script right now then.

Oh, and I just realized I posted this in the Script Request forum even though it's more of an event-related question... ah well, as long as it worked out alright. ::)
