Thanquol83

hi!  I'm looking for some scripts.  The first involves boss music.  I only want the intro to play once, and the rest of the song is looped.  XP currently plays the song, and then plays the song again with the intro.  i want to eliminate this

The second script involves having an attack drain hit points from an opponent and give it to the attacker.  I have looked so hard for this script and no dice.

The last script involves freezing the text for a specified amount of time.  That means freezing all action, preventing the character from moving.  I want this to happen when the hero picks up a powerful item, and to last for as long as is necessary.

Well, thats it!  Thanks!~   ;)

@Thanquol83 - I appreciate newbies asking questions more than experts making them feel stupid for asking'

here's what I recommend...

for the boss music:
------------------
split the music into 2 files,
1 - intro track and 2 - the body of the song you want to loop.

a vampiric attack:
-----------------
my question to you is, are you using RPG Maker XP's default battle system?
or a CBS?? (custom battle system)
you may want to look into an ABS! (action battle system)
some are already loaded with the skill you seek.
check out XAS (personal favorite)

pause on text message:
----------------------
what you are looking for is an AMS (Advance Messaging System)
search for a demo so you can study how everything works.

now that you got the lingo, it should be a little easier for you to find.
good luck on your search... I'm certain you will succeed in your quest.

Than: as far as the AMS goes, I prefer Ccoa's UMS, Universal Messaging System. I used it because it provided a comprehensive demo and events covering all its functions, laying them out in terms that could be understood and replicated. For some people - myself included - 99.999% of the game-making process is reverse-engineering, picking apart events and observing how their arrangement has everything to do with their order of execution.

The demo Ccoa has provided will let you do that very thing.
