So, I've never really been that good at composing things, but I think I've finally composed something that's listenable. One's the main theme for a game, and the other is a battle theme.

Tell me what you think. :3

I'm assuming it's an .midi > .mp3. You might wanna get a better recording or into a different program because it sounds blech. The music itself is fine except the sound of the instruments is :P

Irock

It's supposed to sound like that. 8-bit instruments in a non-8-bit style.

Wareya

They're chiptunes, mostly because of the design of the game we're working on.

Oh, he forgot to mention me.   ;9

Anyway if you want to know, I'm going to say that it's probably going to be an evolution sandbox with space-like time travel. any more and I'll probably end up lying because my ideas change so much.

Irock, how many times do I need to tell you that chiptunes aren't always 8-bit? GOD! :V

Second one sort of reminds me of Earthbound which is awesome. Both are really good :] Where does the main theme play?

Thanks bird. :]

I don't think we've decided on where the main theme plays yet. ;o;

Kokowam

Just play it everywhere and remix it in different style. Nobou did that with "To Zanarkand" and it was good. lol.

Irock

I'm going to play the main tune in different places. He was asking about the specific song.

:moo:

Nightwolf

These are really good man. I liked the main title better than the battler

Keep it up =D
Arlen is hot.

Moss.

Not bad at all.

Where did you get those sounds? / What are you using to make these?

Irock

Thank you Nightwolf and arlen. (especially arlen :*)

This tool will output a chiptunes .WAV from any midi file.

Moss.

I do have one suggestion, actually. I like the main theme, but I think it needs some kind of melody. A down low melody, like a cello part, not an up high melody like a singer part. The progression's really interesting, and it fits with the chiptune sound, but it needs just the slightest bit more in my opinion.

I suppose it could use something else. I don't know where or how I'd do a down low melody at this point, though. ;[

Think of it like a bass line. :P I suck at writing music, but you could just listen to your song over and over until you feel something that you could put somewhere. Though you still need to avoid being cluttered. :P
