So everytime RPGMaker2003 tries to playback an mp3 file in either the BGM test or during actual gameplay, it crashes and displays a load of error messages (screencapping won't help much since my OS is not english). I've tried using wav files in their place and they work, so the problem is confirmed to be with just the mp3s. They aren't corrupted since they work just fine in Winamp & WMP, and they worked just fine before. I'm using rm2k3 v.1.08. This is really grinding my gears, anyone know a solution for this?

I first encountered this problem soon after installing and messing with RMVX, so they might be related (and it won't play mp3s either). Should I uninstall RMVX or has it made changes to what sound plugins rm2k3 uses?

Huh, that is weird. If you haven't actually paid for RMVX yet, try uninstalling it and see if anything happens. If you can't figure it out eventually, you could just try converting your files to OGG format. Takes up less space and loops easier.

So rm2k3 is supposed to play OGG sound? Never heard of that before. I'll try uninstalling and converting the tunes to OGG.

Okay so I uninstalled VX, nothing. rm2k3 also doesn't recognise the OGG file.
