How do I open my project?

I downloaded RPG maker 2k3 on to a flash drive I had and I could get it to work easily and my project would open up everytime. A couple months ago I did a system recovery on my computer and afterwards I couldn't open my project until I reinstalled RPG maker 2k3, then it worked fine and my project would open up when I started playing.

Just a couple days ago however, when I woke up and turned on the computer it wouldn't open up my project when I started playing RPG maker 2k3. I tried going to open project and searching through the ... scroll down menu but I can't seem to find my project in there which is also saved to the flash drive. Any FAQs I read didn't really deal with this kind of question and reinstalling it doesn't work either.

I noticed that the day it didn't start working again, the flash drive was removable disk (M:) instead of the usual removable disk (K:). I don't know if it really makes a difference though but I just can't figure out how to open my project anymore.

Maybe you're searching the wrong path...?

EDIT: All you have to do is to find where the project is, and select the parent folder andyou should see your project.
Hi

m.rain

When I click the ... I can find a RPG maker folder, but that and the folders inside don't have my project listed in the projects list column when I choose them.

Just select the folder that the project is in. The project should appear.
Hi

m.rain

I checked all the folders under RPG maker but not even the project folder lists my game when I select it.

try this(find the folder of your project, then copy and past the data to your desktop, then in rpgmaker2003 open up desktop as your project folder, your game should then come up as the file/folder name you named it. i have mine set up this way as well. don't ask me why i just do.)

path to find your project folder should be something like

C:\Program Files (x86)\rpg2003\projects\your game name (vista) 32 bit is just programfiles
some versions may have Enterbrain as the folder name. like VX but think some versions of 2k3 may have had the same set up. not sure on that.

Let me also make this clear. ( do not do this firstly in rpgmaker 2003) do it first using your computer, put the folder(yourgamename) to your desktop, then open up rpgmaker 2003 and try to set (desktop) as your project folder.
Who said i was Wack?

Ok, I got my project to open when I copied the folder to the desktop. Thanks for both your help.
